Well it's Friday alright, and Deborah, at PICTURES, POTS AND PENS is hosting today's family photo fun. My photo for today is my mother at about five years of age. On yesterday's post I showed a pencil drawing that my sister did from the photo I am showing today. I am going to show both pictures today.
My mother was a blonde with eyes that changed from blue to green according to what she wore. She was one of the younger sisters from a family of ten children. She had four brothers and five sisters. She grew up to be the most loving mother of six children. Five girls and one boy. I am the second oldest of this family. My parents were happily married for 47 years. Sadly my mother had cancer and passed away at 65 years of age. That was in 1985. I miss her every day of my life, as do my sisters and brother. She taught us to love each other and stay close as a family. We did not disappoint her.
My sister has never had any art training. She has a natural born talent. This was a gift for my mother from my sister many years ago. Needless to say, my mother loved it. My sister would say she is not happy with the finished picture. I love it!
