Blue Monday is hosted by Sally at, Smiling Sally. Thank you so much for the fun of posting blue. Will we ever run out of Blue? Never!!!
We are still in Florida and enjoying every minute. My daughter's net connection has been down most of the time we have been here, so visiting has been almost nil. Today it is all fixed. Hurray! We did have moments of connecting but it was mostly down. Would you believe a tech came out on Christmas day? He couldn't fix it. Our daughter finally worked it out with some help from her brother.
My post today is about my sister's grands visiting to play in the snow. They played on her front yard and ours. Note: Our yards are all down hill.
My sister Caralie with CC
My sister's grands...Connor, Bridgette, and Mason. Yes, the boys are twins. Adorable and having the most fun on that snow.
The twins with my sister's black lab, Sasha.
They do not see snow very often. This was the day we left for Florida. By Christmas day the snow was gone. My sister said it rained it away. No white Christmas in the mountains after all.
Pink Saturday is hosted by Beverly at, How Sweet the Sound. Be sure and visit Beverly's blog for lots of amazing pink.
We are in Florida for the week and I will visit everyone as soon as I can. Thank you so much for your visits and comments. I love to hear from you very much.
On our way to Florida I stopped overnight in Atlanta to stay with my sister. I want to share a chandelier that is so unusual I know you will love it as much as I do. The shades are trimmed in a lovely shade of pink and the rest is a surprise.
My sister's dining room.
The bird are all bisque and there is around 20 birds in all.
My grandsons, son and daughter-in-law. Their dog Dixie, is no longer with us.There are two step granddaughters who are very special, but not pictured here. I need a current family photo to share. I'll work on it.
This photo was taken the first Christmas we spent in our home...May 2007. We had just been to the Christmas tree farm and our tree has not even been decorated yet.
We spent the weekend in Tennessee with my son and daughter-in-law and of course, I found some sweet vintage treasures that are probably many times around. They were purchased in an antique store, handed down in the family etc. We drove through the most unbelievable snow to get there. Pleas check my previous for snow pics if you are interested. They are amazing.
Photos of the vintage treasures next...
These cookie cutters are made out of tin. The silverware caddy is a gift to my daughter-in-law for her birthday. It too, is very old.
My DIL collects these charming hot pads and uses them for coasters. They work perfectly and look awesome in her 1930's home.
Thank you for stopping by at this very busy time of the year.
Blue Monday is hosted by Sally at, Smiling Sally . Thank you Sally for the time it takes to host this event even though you are in the middle of moving into your new home.
Happy new home to you and your hubby Sally.

Ooh La, La
Even though we had lots of snow, we
decided to try and leave for our weekend trip to our son's house
anyway. We drove our big truck because it has 4 wheel drive. We
barely made it down our drive but we were able to get to the highway
and head towards Asheville. Our son lives in Tenn about one hour North
of Ashevelle. We knew there was lots of snow but we were not prepared
for what we saw. In the highest elevation the snow was very bad. We counted about 70 cars and trucks that were abandoned
and practically covered in snow. Wreckers were busy pulling them out.
I took a couple of photos through our truck window so they aren't the
This is the road we took to our sons home. It is a two lane mountain road called Asheville Highway. It is a winding mountain road.
This is what we found on our driveway when we arrived home that night. We did make it to our home but only because we had our big truck. It is good to be home again safe and sound.
Thank you for the hard work Beverly and for your dedication to keeping this event running smoothly every single week.
This week along with our pink we are asked to share a Christmas tradition that we do every year.
For a long time we have supported the Salvation Army project to take angels (children in need) and purchase clothing, toys, etc according to a list of the child's wishes and needs. Our children now do the same thing.
However, we have been involved in something here in our town that is an awesome project. The project is a Christmas event called "Shop With a Cop" Money is raised so that children in need are taken by a policemen to shop in a local store for their hearts desire. It could be toys, clothing, etc.
This program shows these children that a policeman or woman is a good person and they are someone to look up to and respect.
Our involvement is to donate money. I miss the angel program, but in this small town "Shop With a Cop" is a wonderful program and we are happy to support it.
NOW FOR MY PINK
This is my pink tree from last year. I hope you don't mind if I share it again.
Claudie at Bubblin' Over sent this to me and I shared it on my post yesterday. However, there were few comments so I decided to show it again today. This is just one of several sweet gifts she sent me. Scroll down to my previous post to see more.
Check out her tongue. CC's first snow. She is EATING (biting) the snow.
We made a very short trip to see our son and his family last weekend. We delivered our Christmas gifts and and had a wonderful time just visiting. This was the first time they saw CC. It was love at first sight. I am sharing some photos with CC and my son and his family.
Then I will show you what came in the mail
We decorated the Christmas tree and then took photos but this first photo is in front of the fireplace in the family room. Jacob was the first one to have his photo taken with CC. You can see there is puppy love right away.
Molly with CC in front of the tree. CC is very interested in something on the floor. An ornament no doubt. She doesn't miss a thing.
I love this photo with John trying to get CC's attention. She is looking at Yvonne intently.
CC is now five pounds.
SURPRISE'S ARE SO MUCH FUN
Claudie at Bubblin'Over from Ontario Canada, has the most exciting news and this is it...
Her hubby and son have co-written a book and it has been published. WOW, WOW, WOW! How awesome for them. They have been on a round of book signings and I ordered some of them to give as Christmas gifts.
THEY ARRIVED TODAY
This book promises adventure, excitement and a bit of romance. They are all personally signed by the authors. Check out the wonderful bookmarks Claudie made with the initials of my grands. Thank you sooo much Claudie
NOW FOR THE SURPRISE!!!
I just had to show a closeup of the poodle ornament. I adore it and so does CC. She would chew it up, but of course, I will not let her have it now.
These gifts were all wrapped in pink tissue and tied with the pink ribbon in photo. This is like winning a giveaway. Claudie, I LOVE everything. The garden gloves will be well used in the spring. The poodle is adorable and perfect in the pink bag. My pink Christmas tree will look wonderful with the pink poinsettia. You already know I love the bookmarks and your card is so sweet. Thank you so much.
WAIT, THERE IS ONE MORE TREASURE.
I DIDN'T FORGET
Look at the beautiful reindeer in gorgeous green sparkle. I put him right where he belongs don't you think? Claudie, green is my favorite color.
If you haven't been to Claudie's blog your have missed a computer artist at work. Her posts are just gorgeous. She has a way with selecting the perfect background for every subject she writes about. Entertaining is an 'understatement.' I am not kidding. The WOW factor is always present in everything she does.
The decorating I have done for Christmas is limited this year. We have a new puppy who is into everything, but I did my best. Decorating for Christmas is pure love on my part. I love this festive lovely tradition so very much. Our home when growing up was full of warmth and love and most of all my mom loved to decorate our home in the most magical way. There was never much money but there was an abundance of love with a house full of six children and parents who loved us. What a blessing!
I will post these Christmas photos without text. The pictures speak for themselves.
