A very happy hello to all of you Pinkies out there in blogland. Beverly is our wonderful hostess and she is the reason we have so much fun on Pink Saturday. Be sure and visit the wonderful pink posts that we all share on this Pink day. She would love to see a comment from you.
Many of you know we are vacationing in Our RV near Acadia National Park, Maine.
I am on a blog break but I can't miss Pink Saturday
Cranberry Isles, Maine USA
Great Cranberry Island is the largest of the Cranberry Isles off the southern end of Maine's Mount Desert Island. Access is by private boat or ferry service. Views from this island of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island are spectacular.
The most well-known village, Islesford, is on Little Cranberry Island. Acadia National Park has a maritime museum near the public dock there.
We went on a boat ride to these islands and had a wonderful time. I have just a few photos to share for now.
This Island is Islesford, where the museum is located. The only way to get to these islands is by boat. We were told we could get the most delicious gingerbread on this island. We onlu had 45 minutes to visit the museum and walk at least a quarter of a mile to the gingerbread place. We headed to main street for a piece of the gingerbread. We we got there they only had three pieces left. We only bought one and shared. IT WAS DELICIOUS!
Yep, Bill took a bite before I could get a photo. We rushed back to the museum to have time there. There wasn't much time left.
The park ranger was sitting on the steps waiting for someone to visit. It was free.
The building was very old and it was full of interesting things. However, I am only sharing three more photos for now.
The Ranger was a girl and she posed for me.
I told the sad story that the gingerbread ran out and she gave me a little bag with a piece of gingerbread inside. I told her "no" but she INSISTED. Since I was sure she wouldn't take it back I decided not to tell her I had a half piece of gingerbread. I still feel a bit guilty! I thought it would ruin her sense of sharing, if I told her at that point. Please tell me I did the right thing.
Are you wondering where my PINK is... look at this!
