A VINTAGE LUNCH BOX REPURPOSED

I was cleaning some shelves to find stuff to sell at a big flea market in our community center this coming Saturday. The seniors that participate in the Senior Olymips host this sale twice a year to raise funds to send the medal winners to the State competition in Raleigh, NC.  This fall I am selling my 'stuff' to downsize my accumliation of things I don't need.

AND...I found my vintage lunchbox purse which was given to my by my sister Carmen.

I LOVE THIS PURSE    ( I just forgot about it for a few years)

This is so adorable.  Especially since I have red hair!

 

Front...squeal! Perfect for me.

 

Back...It once belonged to someone with these initals.

A GOODWILL FABULOUS FIND

That's right, I found this gorgeous handmade table runner for $3.00.  Apparently someone made it and never finished the ends.  It took me a while to find the right trim and when I did it was less than $5.00.  I finally found some time to finish it for the fall season.

The small project needed fabric glue and shears.

 

 

 

One end finished.

 

Add a centerpiece.

 

Walla! I love the way it looks.

The flash messed up the painting but the color was washed out when I turned the flash off.

Keep on thrifting and find something awesome at bargain prices.

I FELT LIKE A PRINCESS

This is a photo of my motel room in Canada.  Can you believe a motel would have a beautiful chenile bedspread on their beds?  Neither do I.  Claudie at, French Pink Poodles and Pearls put her own vintage bedspread on the bed before I arrived. And did you notice the adorable pillow.  Another lovely gift from Claudie. A princess pillow if I ever saw one. That is what I call the hostess with the mostess.

There was so much more to enjoy in that motel room that I will share another day.

Think beautiful soaps, welcome banners, a well stocked mini refrigerator, and colored toilet paper.  Not to mention lovely hand made flowers and a 'huge' chocolate bar by my bed. ( which I ate the first night)

Note to Claudie: No more chocolate...I can't resist it!!!!

A bouquet of fresh flowers from Claudie's yard put lovingly on the end table by my bed.

Claudie gave me this awesome German Majolica plate.  She has one in a differnt color with the same design.  I can't believe she parted with anything PINK. Smile.  If you know Claudie, you know she is the queen of pink.

An outdoor shower (enclosed for privacy)

A huge movie screen to watch Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn and Gregary Peck. SIGH!!!

A shimmery River with gorgeous sunsets.

Goumet food by:  Chef Randy and his assistant Colt (Claudie's husband and son)

Every meal but one, enjoyed OUTSIDE in the garden

The photo I am sharing is from my bedroom mantel.  The vintage tea pot is a gift I won at a Chinese auction.  This is one of my treasures from my trip to Canada at Claudie's  home.

The  Vintage Tea Pot was Claudies and she donated it to the auction.  The runner on the mantel is a Goodwill purchase for I.00.  The other items in the room such as the cranberry glass lamp was once owned by my Aunt and Uncle.  It was given to me when my aunt passed away. 

 

This next photo is also from Canada.  These peignoirs are purchases from a huge thrift shop called Value village in Ottawa.  Claudie collected them for our Blog party visit.  We did wear them for fun on our last day n Canada.

 

 

I shared this photo recently but it seems appropiate to show this fun time we had again.

I am sharing a few gifts from my trip to Canada.  This is just a fraction of the many gifts we shared with the blogging friends that visited Claudie at, French Pink Poodles and Pearls,

This bottle I am sharing was a gift Claudie offered when we had a chinese auction. I picked this beautiful bottle from a table full of gifts.  I fell in love with this pretty bottle at first sight.

Next is a beautiful crystal light catcher made from resin.  The is the perfect gift for a bird lover like me.  Especially darling bluebirds.  This is just one of several gifts given to me from Wendy at, No Botox Allowed

This bottle with the doll is a gift from Claudie.  It was placed in my hotel room for me to enjoy.  I will share all the gifts in my room soon.  It was like walking into a lovely guestroom.  Claudie you amazed us everyday.

Thank you for all you did to make our stay a memory to last a lifetime.

Time is something I have "not had" for a large part of 2011.

I have missed my dear blogging friends.
