Yippee, all of a sudden I started bowling well and I am the worst bowler on our team.

I think the bowling fairy has been sitting on my shoulder.

Garden club news.  I am  the president of our local garden club and it was my duty to put our membership yearbook together. The cover is pink.  (my choice cause I'm a Pinkie first and a garden club member 2nd. HA!)  It is 18 pages long and we have 56 members.  Think over 1000 printed pages.  I loved the challenge but I am glad it is done.

The garden club meets once a month at a lovely restaruant and it is my turn to do the table centerpieces.  I found flower pots at the flea market for$1. each and this is what I did.

I love these so much.

I will share the finished centerpiece next week.  Think bunnies and candy.

SPRINGTIME MOUNTAIN PROPERTY TO ADMIRE

A BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN HOME AND PROPERTY

On our way to town we drive by this property just a few miles from our home.  It is owned by a retired proffessor from the University of Florida and his wife.  They have devoted much of their time keeping their property manicured and gorgeous.  My photos can't begn to share the detailed beauty of this lovely little piece of heaven on earth.

I have tried to capture the beauty of this mountain property for you to enjoy.

These trees are in full bloom along the road as you pass by their property. They are a pale pink but you can't tell in my photo.

Here is a note of interest.  They have matching riding lawn mowers and can be seen mowing twice a week to keep the grass at the perfect level. Did I say they were devoted to keeping their property beautiful at all tmes?  We mentally thank them every time we pass by.

My daughter-in-law took this photo recently.  She saw this fire like sunset and had to go outside to make sure it wasn't a fire.  Thank goodness it was  just an amazing sunset.  There is a bit of blue thank goodness.  I couldn't resist sharing this for today's Blue Monday.

The journal I am working on belongs to Shelia at, Note Songs.  Her Theme is 'By Hand' so I decided to make yo yo flowers.  She also loves music and is a wonderful musican so I used a vintage music page. THANKFUL FOR OUR HOME IN THE MOUNTAINS...LIFE IS GOOD

My friend Cami at First Day of my Life, is hosting Thankful Thursday.  I am happy to join her blog party because being thankful is so important to one's happiness in life.

 

LIFE IS GOOD AND  IT IS THE TIME OF YEAR THAT MAKES US THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE

I am thankful that the weather is warmer and we can spend more time on our deck.  Our morning coffee tastes better on the deck. See that blue rocker? My hubs is thankful I let him keep that Florida Gator rocker on our deck even though it doesn't match a thing. We are a family of Gator Alumni, which makes us very big fans.

 

I'm thankful that our deck is a place where family who love each other comes together to shell peas or just share some laughter and love.

 

I am thankful that our deck is a place where we can display our flag and that we live in a free country.  God bless America.

 

We are waiting for our hummingbirds to come back.  The feeders are ready. I am thankful our deck is a lovely feeding station to these birds we love so much.

 

We wake up every morning to this view off of our front deck.   We are thankful to be alive and living in a beautiful part of our country.  This is a real rainbow and it is the photo that I used for my header.

Note: This cabin was on our property when we bought it and our home was built on the right side of this photo.

Today is Claudie's birthday.  She loves pink but she also loves blue.  Wish Claudie a happy birthday at, French, Pink Poodles and Pearls.
Claudie in Canada,  where six blogging friends met for a week of fun and friendship last summer.

Claudie is a Blog friend that has become a very special person in my life.  This is the best reward for Blogging that I never dreamed would happen nearly four years ago when I started my  Blog.

The first time I met Claudie in person was on her birthday trip two yers ago. Can you imagine driving a huge truck from Canada, making stops along the way, and ending up in St. Augustine Florida. just to celebrate her birthday. Claudie and her dear friend Julie did just that.  One of her stops was in NC at my home and our friendship has bloomed since then.  Claudie is like a beautiful flower  inside and out because she always blooms where ever she goes.  Everyone who meets her loves her.  The best part is... she loves you back.

Here is Claudie two years ago celebrating her birthday in St. Augustine, Florida.

See...she is blooming.  Her favorite color is pink.

She also loves blue. Her kitchen in her cottage is pink and blue. Photo above in her blog header that I shared with you today. Did I mention she is French?

Today is my son-in-law's birthday.  He and our daughter have been married over 25 years and we are blessed that he is a member of our family. They were recently here to ski and this photo will make him smile.  He loves our pup Cheri'.

OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY - Snorkeling in the Keys

Have you ever been in the Florida Keys and visited John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo.  Many of my years involved growing up in Florida after we moved from our farm in MI.   We spent countless days in the ocean and in the Florida Keys.

The most striking thing I have ever seen was "The Christ of the Abyss" near the most fabulous coral reefs In the John Pennekamp State Park.  We had to take a boat out to the reef and the snorkeling was amazing. The photo below is from Google.  A memory worth sharing.

 

One of the most famous residents of Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is the Christ of the Abyss, located near Dry Rocks. The 8¹⁄₂-foot-tall (2.6 m) statue of Jesus Christ weighs 4,000 pounds (1,800 kg) and sits in nearly 25 feet (7.6 m) of water. It is a popular site for scuba divers and snorkelers.

The statue is a third casting of Il Cristo Degli Abissi in the Mediterranean Sea near Genoa, Italy, which was placed there in 1954. The Christ of the Abyss was donated to the Underwater Society of America in 1961 by Italian scuba entrepreneur Egidio Cressi and placed in its current location in 1965.

Most visitors just snorkel.  I will never forget swimming around this fabulous Statue regally standing in the crystal clear water. I also remember a baracuda that lived near the statue and often circled the statue like he was protecting it from harm. His teeth were very foreboding. Yikes!
