My friend Cami at First Day of my Life, is hosting Thankful Thursday. I am happy to join her blog party because being thankful is so important to one's happiness in life.
1. I am thankful that I have a family that loves each other.
2. I am thankful that I have a dear blogging friend named Cami.
3. I am thankful that we live in the mountains with a beautiful view to wake up to each day.
4. I am especially thankful that our children and grandchildren love to come to the mountains in the winter to ski very near where we live.
5. I am so thankful to be in our seventies and healthy enough to have a wonderful fun filled active life.
Today I am sharing a weekend with my children and grandchildren. I am so thankful for our children and time with them is very special. Two of our daughters were here from Florida and Tennessee. The only way it could be better is to have all five of our children here at the same time.
Some photos of two of our darling grands. Ashley is 17 and a junior in HS. She is an excellant student with a 4. average since the day she started school. We are so proud of her. Our grandson Logan is 15 and like his sister he excels in his studies with a 4. average from the day he started school. They are a grandparent's dream. Both of them are active in sports and many school activities. They study the martial arts and both of them have won gold medals in the most recent National Karate Competition held in Ft. Lauderdale 2011.
Yes, I am so thankful for their acomplishments but more imortant I am thankful for these teenagers who are a blessing to their parents, to their grandparents and to others who know them.
Presenting...Ashley and Logan.
Our grands, our daughter and son-in-law
Our daughter and SIL are loving parents that are role models for their children. Our granddaughter's dream is to graduate from U of F like her mom did. My SIL graduated from FIU in Miami. It is easy to understand why we are thankful for children who are making the world a better place.
Ashley
See that beautiful naturally blonde hair? Ashley just donated her hair for cancer patients. It is now 'very short.' I am so thankful for this granddaughter who is selfless and thinks of others.
NEWS FLASH!
Ashley's new haircut.
I miss the curls but I love her new look. (she irons her curls out)
Thankfulness creates happiness.
Blessings and love,
JEANNE

We all need to give more thanks daily than we do. I am truly blessed and thank the good Lord each night for letting me enjoy another day. You certainly have some very pretty grandchildren. Nothing like them or in my case, great grandson. I love him dearly.

What a lovely family, Jeanne.
I am thankful that YOU have so much to be thankful for...me, too. I am so blessed.
I love her new hair-do....cute as it can be. I, too, have a grandgirl that has curly hair but straightens it all the time.:)) The other 6 keep getting perms for curly. :))

Oh, Dear Jeanne, you've brought tears to my eyes with your sweet touching thankful post! Your grandchildren are both gorgeous and sound like wonderful children. Your daughter has your smiles. Your family has the prettiest smiles ever! :)
How sweet of your granddaughter to donate her beautiful hair! She is really a looker, just like her grandmother!
Be a sweetie,

That was nice Jeanne. Beautiful family.
Gratitude is EVERYTHNG. Right now my list would be VERY long in what I am thankful for.
As it should be.
My son that passed away. his 7 year old daughter lets her hair get really long, then she cuts it
and TWICE now has donated it to what in Utah is called "Locks of Love"...for cancer patients.
It is a beautiful thing to do.
Hugs to you my friend.

What a great post, Jeanne! We all need to take the time to count our blessings! You truly are blessed with family!! I envy that...but I've told you that many times before!
How wonderful that those two grands are such good and smart kiddos!!! Wow!! Truly is a parents' and grandparents' dream!! It's so awesome that she donated her beautiful blonde hair. I don't think I told you, but our little red headed grand girl did that too! Can you imagine the lucky person who gets a wig made from her sweet red curls!! :)
Looking forward to your PSat post! I've gotta go sew and stuff!!
