A very happy hello to all of you Pinkies out there in blogland. Beverly is our wonderful hostess and she is the reason we have so much fun on Pink Saturday. Be sure and visit the wonderful pink posts that we all share on this Pink day.
WE ARE CELEBRATING A VERY SPECIAL DAY
TODAY WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED 49 YEARS.
OUR WEDDING
. We did not have much money and I only have snapshots to share. They are in bad condition but they still tell the story.
My dress was pink.

The over skirt was worn during the ceremony and reception and removed for my going away dress.

I kept everything except the faux bouquet and the pearls were double stranded. I had real roses.
Bill looks so serious. Our friends were snapping photos and you will see black and white and color too.

The 'kiss' My hubby's favorite thing to do. He put my ring on the wrong hand. HA! Are we really married?

The reception was in the church hall. My dress is pink lace and I saved it for our fiftith anniversary to display. I decided to share it today because the future is unknown. HA! Lord knows I can't fit into it now. I'm holding a punch cup???
Punch and cake with mints and nuts was all we could afford.
Common for weddings in 1963.
Cake cutting. Bill is nervous. My colors were pink and white. I made the "grooms cake" on the left. Chocolate, Bill's favorite.
My parents on the left and the flower girls. The little blond is my daughter at 4 years of age. Bill took on a divorced woman and two small children. He was and still is my hero. I also had a two year old boy. The other little girl is the daughter of a dear friend.
OUR FIRST ARGUMENT
Bill was in college when we were married. His sister was too and she lived with us to save money. We were sitting at the kitchen table eating supper, which happened to be soup. I made a comment about an event and Bill said I was wrong. Knowing I WAS right I told him he was wrong. This went back and forth a few times and I got mad and told him if he didn't let it go I was going to throw my soup at him. His sister laughed but I was dead serious. Of course he said it one more time and the soup flew in his direction. I ran from the kitchen to our bedroom and locked the door. He followed me and when he discovered I locked the door he put his shoulder to the door and it fell open on to the floor. We were both so shocked that we cracked up laughing. We have seriously laughed about that over the years. I have never thrown anything since. HA! I wish it was true but I have been known to throw cards. In my defense, I was pregnant when I did that. Bill and our card buddies have never let me forget it either. Sigh!
AND WE ARE STILL MARRIED!!!
Five years later. The little ones are three, 19 months and six months old. Bill adopted Brett and Andrea by then. We took lots of kidding over three babies in three years. "Kissing" is the reason. HA!
Ten years later. Our family was growing up. This photo was taken in our living room. I papered the accent wall behind us. I loved that mural so much. Almost as much as my darling family. HA!
Twenty years later...I cut my hair.
We are both wearing PINK!!!
Twenty five years later... All of our children which included fifty family members and friends joined us on our 25th anniversary cruise. We had the time of our lives.
Thirty five years later...on a cruise to Alaska.
Forty nine years later,..we are still doing this!
Forty nine years later...our 'kiss' created this. (our two oldest grandsons are missing from this photo)
Bill, Jeanne and Cheri' (our darling poodle) today.
Thank you so much for sharing our forty ninth "Wedding Anniversary" with us.
Blessings and love,
JEANNE
