A VACATION TO REMEMBER
We arrived home from a four week vacation in southeast France yesterday. We stayed in a small village between the Mediterranean and Provence. Provence is a geographical region and historical province of southeastern France, which extends from the left bank of the lower Rhône River on the west to the Italian border on the east, and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea on the south. We rented a car and traveled each day to see as much as our time allowed. I will be sharing our many photos in the next few posts.
Today I am sharing a few pics as a teaser.
We are getting ready to order lunch.
My sister and I ordered baby squid. A first for me and it was delicious.
My sister Jane Anne and her hubby Bill. Out traveling buddies and we had the time of our lives thanks to Jane Anne who planned out amazing trip for the entire time we were in France. She also did the driving which was an experience in itself on the narrowest roads I have ever seen. More about that later.
Roman ruins in Pont du Gard Avignon. (Roman Aqueduct) is one of the oldest and most remarkable Roman hydraulic works. ... It crosses the river Gardon near Nimes (south of France).
My sister and me in the Roman coliseum in Pont du Gard. It has been restored and is used today for events. It was very cold and windy that day.
A French flower shop in Olanzac where we stayed. The French love their flowers and I will be sharing them soon.
Me on a cobblestone road. The Medieval towns, castles, Abbyes, Cathedrals and Roman ruins were amazing. Think 12th century and earlier.
To be continued...
Happy Pink Saturday
Blessings and love,
