THE JAM SESSION
We...my daughter Christina and me, made"eight" batches of jam/preserves working on it for two evenings til midnight both nights. Whew, I call that a "Jam Session" absolutely. It all turned our delicious and that is what it is all about.
Our daughter and her husband visited us for a week and our oldest daughter Andrea came over for the weekend. We all had a wonderful time, By Monday morning all of our company and half of the preserves were gone. Not eaten just traveling to Jacksonville, Florida where our daughter lives. Also, to Knoxville TN., where out daughter Andrea lives.
Left to right...Two batches of plum preserves picked from our nephew's plum tree. Three batches of peach preserves with peaches purchased from our local farm stand. Two batches of strawberry preserves with strawberries purchased at the farm stand when strawberries were in season in May. I cut off the stems and put them in the freezer to wait for Christina's visit. One batch of blackberry preserves from the blackberries that our daughter and son-in-law picked where they grew wild. We used 10 + lbs of sugar, 8 packages of Sure Jell, and several boxes of new lids. I had all of the jars stored in my garage.
"Exhausting" but so rewarding. A labor of love. Many of these lovely jars of goodness will be given away to friends and family.
We were tired but happy!
Wishing you all a happy Pink Saturday.
Blessings and love,
