Today's post was inspired by my Father whose forefathers were Scottisch/ Irish.
He loved a boiled dinner. This was our St. Patrick's Day dinner.
My dad, Randall DJ Coulter
He was on a cruise. Too bad the Lei isn't green. Smile!
He was a gentle lovng father with a sense of humor that kept our home full of laughter.
This big pot inspired a tablescape. Nothing fancy but the food was great. My sister and her Bill came to share an Irish boiled dinner of corned beef and cabbage with me and my Bill.
Did you know Bill's are best? They think so anyways. HA!
When I set this table I was not thinking of a tablescape. I first have to say I do not love the placemats I used. Such is life, you be the judge.
This photo is all about the corned beef. It was delicious. I FORGOT something very important. A photo of the wonderful cabbage, carrots and potatoes that we completely devoured. SIGH!
Corned beef...TA DA!
Next dessert...Sugarfree Banana Pudding. (sugarfree instant vanila pudding and sliced bananas)
We have diabetics in our family.
I say INSTANT is a good thing!!!
It really WAS good.
WALLA! now the tablescape.
I must mention this table is 9 feet long and four place settings looks very lost. I must also mention I am so glad I wasn't feeding 12 people that night.
Centerpiece vases are vintage. They were made in Czechoslovakia
It is called luster glass and...
THEY WERE ONE DOLLAR EACH? Sorry, I just couldn't help showing you my enthusiasim for this awesome bargain.
I picked the triple daffodills from my yard.
Close up of the tablesetting. I told you it wasn't fancy.
Vintage spooner and bargain goblets at the auction. Twelve water goblets and 12 matching wine glasses for $20. I love the color of green. I can't tell if the goblets are vintage.
The small dish has mustard in it and the spoon was added after the photo. Darn!
The dishes are Mikasa, Garden Harvest.
Nothing else is exciting enough to mention.
