Today won't you join me for '2nd Time Around Tuesday? ' Diane at A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words, is our host for this fun event. Be sure and visit Diane's blog to share in the fun.
Today my post is all about the most fun coffee table ever. My coffee table was a butler table and very formal. Not right for our new life in our mountain home. I shopped all the furniture stores to no avail. Then I happened on a very rustic mixed antiques and 'stuff' store in town. The perfect coffee table was sitting in that messy store. How did you guess? It was a heavy, solid oak coffee table that was painted and stenciled with pine cones. Hooray, just what I wanted. I can't say it was a bargain at $158. but the furniture stores would have been lots more than that. You be the judge.
It is kind of hard to tell but the color is just right. The stenciling is just th touch I was looking for.
The birds are metal and the box is wood. Gifts from my sister Diane. The flash has faded the photo on the edge of the picture. Drat, I should read some camera instructions. I would rather blog. Smiling!
Bronze doves from an auction. One little toe was broken but I loved them. Can you see it?
Some glass balls to pick up the colors in the couch. My sister-in-law made the stone coasters. That is a V, some might think it is a funky 2, Smile.
Ponder this!
Always buy good shoes and a good bed.
Because if you aren't in one, you are in the other!
Blessings and love...Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, I've been so busy I haven't checked your posts for ages. I've been missing something glorious because you brighten my day every time I look. I do love you. I especially love your post about teachers. My mom was a teacher and I can just see her saying the same thing and holding her head up high. Thank God for teachers! Thanks, Bill! Can't wait to see you. Love, Linda

Good morning Jeanne...Boy, I'll say...that coffee table is perfect for your room...I wonder how long it had been waiting & waiting to come live at your house? I am surprised no one else had snapped it up...perhaps because the store was so messy they couldn't see it...LOL... I love the birds you have on there & the one with the owee (broken toe) is my fav!
Hugs, ;-) Bo

I've had a broken toe several times, and I am glad I was loved - even then. So, of course I love your bird(s).
I like your "ponder" of the day. Love you.

Great table and 2nd time around subject, Jeanne. One of these days I'll take a good picture of J's trout table, in the lodge. I've posted photos before, but none are real clear.

Hello! thanks for visiting and commenting on my page. :-) The table is pretty and unique because it is stenciled. Bronze doves are cute-I buy stuff that are not so perfect too. Nothing wrong with that.
Have a nice day!

That table is absolutely perfect! It's really pretty with the birds and so right for your cabin. I adore that quote about the shoes and the bed and I must borrow it for my next post! ♥
