Today is Second Time Around Tuesday hosted by Diane at, A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words. Be sure and visit Diane's blog for more treasures that have been made over, saved from the trash or found in a thrift store. The fun begins at Diane's blog.
I am showing a buffet and two chairs that were a bargain to say the least. The buffet was saved from destruction when a friend moved back home and left it to be hauled away by anyone who wanted a stained neglected unattractive piece of furniture. That would be me. I loved the way it could look refinished. It also needed to be repaired as the piece connected to the legs in the back was broken. I stripped it and glued the broken piece and walla it looks good enough for me to take with me in four moves. The chairs were $5.00 each at a flea market. They are sturdy and I love the design. I still need to have them refinished.
I think the doors and the trim are very nice. A vintage buffet that is also good storage for my tablecloths etc.
The chairs need some finishing but I love the design on the arms and legs. I purchased these since moving here two years ago.
Thank you all for your faithful visits. I am trying to catch up with visiting as over the weekend we were so busy and I am behind. We have been involved with a fun thing called Senior Games and it has been very time consuming. I walked a mile on Saturday at one of the events and that my friends, was a milestone, since my knee replacements. Many of the events are physical and my dh has entered several things. Of course I have to watch. There is also photo and contests in the arts. I have entered a photo. It will be going on for several days. It is all in fun but the winners of these events will go to state competitions. It is very organized and the seniors in this community have been doing this for 20 years. I'll be visiting more asap.
Love...Jeanne
I love your buffet and chairs Jeanne! Your Senior Days sound like fun. How great that you were able to walk that mile. Great job!

Hi, Jeanne..thanks for stopping by today. I, too, have been so busy doing things that I've not been a very good blogger of late. Lots of yard work (remember..the last 2 summers, I spent in the hospital..no yard work at all and Mr. Sweet only does mowing and trimming ! :O)
Also, had quite a lot of company...and tomorrow is my day for the "girls" to come over and have a light lunch and PLAY CARDS...woo hoo...
I'll be back, tho, to see your post tomorrow..
hugs, bj
