Our granddaughter Ashley is in middle school and was awarded the honor of Valedictorian of her class of 2009. She has achieved straight A's in her years of school while being a very active girl in a variety of sports and activities. Her activities include: Playing a musical instrument in her school band, playing organized girls soccer, is a paid referee for soccer, is a member of the Karate class for several years and working towards her black belt. She also takes golf lessons and has played girls basketball. Beyond all that she loves swimming, drawing and writing poetry. Whew! How does she do this and keep her high standard of studies?
Congratulations to our granddaughter for her most esteemed award. Grandma and grandpa are so proud of you. We love you honey.
I hope you will forgive me for bragging about our granddaughter. She is ours and we are very partial to our grands. If you are a grandparent you know that 'Bragging Rights' is our reward for making it through our children's teenage years. BIG smile.

I don't really like maikng NY resolutions either. I just want to embrace positive changes and say yes to adventure in 2011 does this make me shallow? I know goals are supposed to be measurable and attainable and all of that but I think mine are more fun. I like your idea to learn useful skills, too.Bethany and I hung out on NYE. I really don't like NYE that much because I'm not a big drinker, and I don't like the cold. So being stampeded in a crowded bar by inebriated people just didn't sound fun to me. But house parties are the best!

Tater tots & sushi—what a classy way to ring in 2o11! :p I'll have to get back to you on sniprg races; I'm definitely doing the IU Mini, which is usually the first week of April. Beyond that, it's all question marks. Not sure I'm ready to tackle a full quite yet.
