Today's outdoor presentation is all about my sister-in-law's neighbor, across the street from her home. Their home has been included in a garden tour for the city of Gladstone, Missouri. We called her and asked permission to take some photos for the 'Outdoor Wednesday' event hosted by Susan at, A Southern Daydreamer. She was happy to oblige and her only worry was the spring flowers had bloomed out and the summer flowers were just starting. The tour will be in two weeks and she wished we could wait until then. I couldn't wait because we would be in Colorado by then. When you see her lovely garden, I think you will agree, it is beautiful. The tour starts now.
Manicured is the key word for this lovely yard.
A lovely place to relax.
This completes the tour. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Be sure and go to Susan's blog if would like to see more of the great outdoors.

Tonight we are in Estes Park, Colorado. We traveled all day (12 hours) so we can visit Rocky Mountain National Park on Wednesday. Talk about the GREAT OUTDOORS, these mountains are incredible. I hope I will have some wonderful outdoors photos for next Wednesday. We will be here in a mountain motel called Alpine Trail Ridge for five days. Then on to Yellowstone. It is not summer here yet. It snowed in the park these past few days in the higher elevations. brrr.

What a lovely yard!!! They certainly should be on a garden tour--it's wonderful! You're pix turned out great, too!
I know you two are having a ball in Colorado!! You should be able to take enough photos to post Outdoor Wed. for the rest of the year--and then some! :)
My Target birds fell off that tiered cupcake stand I have in my kitchen (over by the frig--don't know if you saw that or not). I saved the pieces to do some mosaic thingy, but they worked out well for the Wordless Wed. theme! :)
Yes, Stan left a message on my Pk Sat post, too. How fun!! He has a great blog, doesn't he?
Keep us posted on your travels!!

Hello. I clicked your link from Outdoor Wednesday. She has a beautiful yard and I can't believe this but my husbands grandmother lives in Gladstone, MO and all of his mom's side lives around there. We are up that way often. I will have to see if I can find this house next time we are visiting. :)

Hi Jeanne!
Your sister-in-law's neighbor has a lovely home! I'd love a garden like hers.
Your trip sounds so wonderful! I'm glad you were able to get away and have a good time. The Rockies are spectacular aren't they? My son drove us to many places in them when we've visited him in Denver. Estes park is pretty ---did you see any elk? They become active in the spring but it might still be a little early from the sound of the weather you've found there. Enjoy Yellowstone! We hope to visit it this year too!
Hugs, Pat

The Mantis is about the best predator arnoud. This time of the year (early spring) is the best time to search the edges of pastures and fields arnoud parks for egg cases. They are found on the thin twigs of bushes. Clip them with pruning tools and hang them by short strings about 6 feet apart arnoud your garden. They will hatch 50 to 100 little bug eaters about the time your seeds germinate. They will venture about looking for food. You will notice that by the end of the season you will only have one or two big fat ones. If you have any short bushes they should have two or three egg cases that will winter over till next spring.

good I have no idea why that should make a dieferfnce either Lucky you Nikki we would love to visit Egypt! Davie is just back from working in Rotterdam and finding it very cold here too (obviously not quite such a big dieferfnce as yours!).

Sounds good to me if you're getting eonugh sun there. A raised bed there should work out fine. You won't dry out as much. Be sure to add eonugh well seasoned compost. You can always divert the run off if it is too bad. Go for it!

you could get herbs that are babies and aldaery planted at garden centers at places like lowes or home depot.or you could start with seeds and plant them in some planters with some good soil and some water, with the sun coming it's perfect time to start one. start with basil, or rosemary. be sure to label all of your pots.

I would feel totally cndnifeot giving one of these gift baskets as a Hostess gift for a Christmas event, or to just put one under the tree as an excellent Christmas gift, based on the presentation in this picture! I love the way that everything is matched from the blue and greens of the Country Mercantile logo repeated in the irridescent edges of the red bow, to the pink chocolate box matching the pink polka dots on the edge of the bag of the chocolate cherries! I'm especially glad to see that the chocolate cherries made it into this gift basket, as they're my favorite candy from the Country Mercantile. Nothing can compare to the cacophony of flavor that bursts forth when I bite through the Country Mercantile's velvety sugar-free chocolate shell to the tantalizing bitter-sweet cherry center! Anyone who has not tried this confection is truly missing out!

At THE 1909 HOUSE here in Eltopia, many different thigns have been grown over the years. Many types of flowers and trees. Also different vegitables, and ,once, an attempt at apples! But two thigns have been here since the start. OVER 100 YEARS AGO!!! They are a few purple iris and a pair of lilac bushes. A little worse for ware, like the house, but we're working on that. A bit at a time. Dale and Vickie Jones

I have to pick just one? I could spend all day in the mercantile! It would have to be all of your salass! There is one for every occasion! Not a holiday has gone by that I haven't come out there and bought a few jars (plus lots of other stuff) for all the holiday entertaining I do! I always get compliments, and I always send them out to you! Thanks for being there!

I have totally fllean in love with your pumpkin butter. My mom used to make us apple butter when I was a child and I adored it. I can't believe (the major pumpkin fan that I am) I have found something I could eat year-round and it's another pumpkin dish! I love it! I'm heading up to your store again soon and am desperately hoping you don't only have pumpkin butter in the early fall.
