Today is Sunday, a day in which several bloggers share their sentiments, thoughts about faith, and uplifting scriptures or poems of the Lords work. Please visit Spiritual Sunday to enjoy the bloggers that are participating in this event.
Today I am sharing a beautiful old church in Yellowstone National Park. It is nondenominational and serves the many people who are visiting the park or are resident's who work in the park and live there in the sumer and fall.
In the 1930's the US Army was called to the aid of Yellowstone to get control of poachers and souvenir seeking people who were destroying the animals and the artifacts that were in the park. For example, destroying the petrified trees by chipping away pieces of the trees. Now there is only one of three that were once there. As a result of this, there are many structures still being used that were built at that time. I am also sharing a few of those structures that are old beautiful and still in use.
FIRST THE BEAUTIFUL OLD CHURCH
This is built with stone which shows the fine workmanship of the old building. If you look close there is an elk looking at the church.
The old post office that is still being used
Notice the two bears guarding the entry. Stone bears of course!
Two old houses that I just loved. There are several old buildings still being used including the barracks.
Note the American flag. Old stone used as well.
This old home had four fireplaces.
The one standing petrified tree.
Blessings and love...Jeanne
