We are home again and our camping trip was terrific. Great weather and great fun. Now we have a week of grands to enjoy. There are eight grands plus my two daughters, to help me survive the week. Think about the word 'chaos' and you will figure out what is going on in this family for one week. Add lots of fun and that sums it up to the best of times.
Now for my post. I hope you will enjoy it. This will conclude the Pink Saturday post from last week. This is all about the school house where the teacher taught her students. Imagine 12 grades in one room. I think there is enough blue in the photos to qualify for blue Monday. Thank you Sally for the fun of flaunting our blue. Be sure and visit Sally's blog at, Smiling Sally for more blue.
Just a small look at education 0ne hundred years ago. It is so interesting to see the difference between then and now. Sometimes I think a simple life is much better.
It is so good to be back. I have missed visiting you very much. I will visit you when I can .
Love...Jeanne

Oh, I love it!! I attended a one room school house and I loved it. Yes, simpler times are best.
What a beautiful building.

Hi Jeanne, this reminds me of the Little House books. Very fun to see!

Hi there, Jeanne! Glad to have you back and safely home! :o) This little school house certainly does have the Little House on the Prairie feel. Actually, across the street from the house I grew up in was an old, old, brick school house that pre-dated the Civil War. It had been made over into living quarters in the 1970's and used as a house--rather like a huge one-room studio--very neat! Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))

I would have hated to have to teach with those limitations. I suppose that each student would have to be give seat work while the teacher struggles to find one-on-one time with them. I would be necessary to keep the room quiet. Argh! Thanks for sharing and giving me something more to be thankful for. I'm glad you're having time with your darlings. Happy Blue Monday.

Happy Blue Monday, dear Jeanne. What kind of posting problem are you having today?
This little school house is charming, and it must have been fun to visit.

Hi Jeanne,
Weloome home! It seems like you've been gone forever!
Times were certainly simple back then...we've made lots of progress, but in some ways the progress hasn't been so good if you know what I mean. LOL

Oh I remember that post :-) The place, as always is enjoyable to look at. It's like one huge time capsule! :-) Yes, I bet the simpler life must have been a nice place to live in. Though when I think of the bathroom situation and 12 grades in one class!? My hats off to the teachers then.
Also, reflecting a little on what my country has been through those years, I don't think I'd be able to survive the life my forefathers have been through. It was sad, tough, and scary. :-(
Now, don't mind much my little reflection. Have fun with your grandkids this summer :-)
