This past spring my cousin visited me here in the mountains and also family in Florida. My niece and her family live in Punta Gorda. While my cousin was in Punta Gorda she was lucky to see an air show where the Blue Angels flew their jets in unison.
This is some of what she saw.
My cousin took these photos.
On November 8, 1986, the Blue Angels completed their 40th anniversary year during ceremonies unveiling their present aircraft, the sleek McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet, the first dual-role fighter/attack aircraft now serving on the nation's front lines of defense. Since 1946, the Blue Angels have flown for more than 260 million spectators.
I remember going to an air show and watching the Blue Angels perform. It was such a thrill.
Think about this...
Of all man's work of art, a cathedral is greatest
A vast and majestic tree is greater that that.

A giant redwood in Muir Woods in CA. Have you ever been there? It is amazing and I agree with the poet, Henry Ward Beecher...

Good morning, dear friend.
You've got lots of outdoors this morning. There is so much majesty surrounding us if we only take the time to notice.
I've seen the Blue Angels perform several times. They are awesome.

Jeanne, the Navy Base where the Blue Angels are headquartered is in Jacksonville, and there is a plane stationed outside the base. They are WONDERFUL. Oh, how I love the air corps! :-) My cousin was a Lt. Col. in the Air Force, but I've also known some Navy pilots over the years. Those planes and their pilots are awesome! Our next door neighbor (now deceased) in St. Augustine was a Navy pilot and was the commander of the Caribbean Fleet... he as the neatest man and so precious! His sons would look at me when I'd say what a sweetheart he was like I was from Mars. LOL! He was all command with them and a pussycat with ladies. ;-)
I have never seen one of the giant redwoods, but I've always wanted to do so. They are SO neat.
Love to you on OW...
XO,
Sheila :-)

We have seen the Blue Angels before and what a fabulous show they put on!! That cathedral is beautiful and we have been somewhere in California with the giant redwoods but I don't remember where it was. Have to ask hubby about that.

Hi Jeanne - We've taken in several of the Blue Angels shows in Shreveport at the base there. Our kids love going, too. It's awesome to watch their maneuvers. We've also seen the Thunderbirds. It's amazing!
Have to agree with you and Harriet Beecher Stowe, anything man-made, altho awesome, cannot compare to anything God-made, even the smallest molecule!
