Miramont Castle
This castle is very near Pikes Peak in Colorado
Since this is Blue Monday, I will show more of some items in the gift shop and a bit of the castle which has the color blue. The history of the castle and more photos of the rooms will be on my Thursday post. We visited this castle while out west this summer.
Thank you Sally at, Smiling Sally, for hosting Blue Monday. It is an event that has been fun for everyone who loves the color blue. If you love the color blue, please join Sally at her blog to share with many others who love blue as well.
This should thrill the heart of anyone who loves the color blue.
This is a box and it was hard to resist.
Meet Belle
Cobalt blue glasses. These were vintage.
A sweet old quilt.
These are vintage children's dresses. The photos were of a prominent family in the town. They donated these items to the castle for display.
A photo of the priest as a boy. More about him on Thursday.
A photo of the servants room on the fourth floor. It is very small.
I hope you enjoyed the blue in these photos. The castle serves as a museum now, but it has an interesting history. Come back on Thursday for the story and some details of the castle rooms.
You won't want to miss this.
Love, Jeanne

That's a very interesting place, Jeanne! I bet it was fun to tour, and I don't know how you passed up that scent bottle. It looks a bit like Old Paris. And of course, I'm a sucker for quilts.
Happy Blue Monday...
XO,
Sheila :-)

Hello Jeanne,
That jar . . . container (oh the first photo LOL) beautiful! And the blue dresses are so cute. My fave is that little boy - - - soooo adorable. And he is to be a priest? Will have to wait and read his story.
Happy Blue Monday!

Hi Jeanne!
First of all I want to thank you for the hotel recommendation in Gardiner Montana --we reserved our room there for our vacation to Yellowstone. We are very excited to go! We'll be visiting with our darling grandson first, of course. He's beginning to crawl and he babbles a lot :-) They do grow fast!
In all the times we've visited Colorado we haven't been able to visit Pike Peak as yet, but it is on my list! Did you take the Cog railway? We visited "The Garden Of The Gods" which is in nearby Colorado Springs.
This gift shop had some lovely things! I would not be able to pass up that pretty box. The historic children's clothes were interesting to see.
Have a good week!
Hugs, Pat

We've visited Pike's Peak and enjoyed ourselves, but we did not see this castle. I never posted about my anniversary, so you didn't miss a thing! Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.

Castles always have a special place in my heart. Randy and I stayed in a few when we honeymooned in Europe. I love all the history, and the secret spots!!
