Last week on Blue Monday I shared some blue in my son and daughter-in-law's kitchen. This week I will share some more of their blue in the dining room. Because everyone seemed interested in seeing more of this 1930's home I will include photos of their dining room by popular request. Every photo will not show blue.
First some blue.
These lovely Nippon pieces are on their vintage buffet.
This is the buffet in the corner of their dining room. The arched doors lead to the living room. More about that room on another Blue Monday post. If you open the lower cabinet doors in the buffet, you will see this...
A whole set of Nippon dishes. Wait, there's more here...
These Nippon dishes are to die for. The cobalt blue make them very valuable. My son bought
them for a bargain price many years ago. Now, more of the dining room.
The chandelier is original to the house. That door leads outside.
Did you say you want to see more?
These windows face the front of their home.
The door to the left leads to the kitchen.
Look who is curious, Orion (Ri Ri) and Cosmo. These beautiful dining room doors lead to the living room. I will share that room next Blue Monday, if you like.
Now, don't forget to visit Sally at, Smiling Sally. She is our gracious event host. You will find enough of the wonder of blue to thrill your senses.
Happy Blue Monday
Love...Jeanne

Hi Jeanne my southern friend. My aunt gave me a Nipon Dish a few years ago. I didn't know anything about it. It's green and white. Looks like a candy dish. Aunty told me it was worth something... Well I prefer to keep it and think of her. : )
Yes it was OUCH. but i was determined to have a piercing at 50... it came out a year later. I did it. Chalk it up right?
I love all your DIL's dishes.
And you
Love Claudie

They do have a gorgeous home Jeanne........and that cobalt blue china is stunning, what a good buy!
Will be in touch after Fri. Jasmin returns to school tomorrow and I hope to have a bit more time to go treasure hunting around town. I did pop over to SuzAnna's Sat. afternoon and today, late afternoon, I stopped by another new shop which has some great antiques! Just wanted to get out and do something on my own - guess I'm somewhat stressed awaiting the test results etc.
Love - Mary.

The house is breath taking. I could see nothing but beauty. What a great job they have done and know they will enjoy it. The dishes were one of favorites. They are out of this world. So happy I got to see how other people live. I appreciate your comment and visit today.

What a gorgeous set of dishes....good shopping on Brett's part! :) I LOVE THAT ROOM!! OMG...the color of paint and the wainscoting (sp?) and the arched doorway and the windows! What a wonderful spot!!
Hope you've had a great Monday! I spent the day with Beth's sister (you didn't get to meet Beth) and the breakfast group at her (Beth's sister) art show being held downtown. Then we got to visit her art studio down in the West Bottoms (close to the old airport) THEN we ate lunch at The Webster House! Next time you come--I'm taking you there for lunch. You'll flip!
