Subject: I AM HONORED TO DO THIS!!
Did you know that the ACLU has filed a suit to have all military cross-shaped headstones removed?
And another suit to end prayer from the military completely. They're making great progress. The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus' name in prayer thanks to the wretched ACLU and our new administration.
I'm not breaking this one.
If Iget If I get it a 1000 times, I'll forward it a 1000 times!
Prayer chain for our Military... Don't break it!
Please send this on after a short prayer. Pray for our veterans and soldiers
'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands Protect them as they protect us Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.'
Prayer Request: When you read this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops and our veterans around the world.
* I received this in my Email and wanted to share this with you today.
I am so thankful for our armed forces that die and are wounded, fighting for our freedom.
DO NOT LET ANYONE TAKE THIS AWAY.
FIGHT FOR OUR VETERAN'S! KEEP OUR FAITH IN GOD AND OUR AMERICAN RIGHT TO EXPRESSION OF OUR BELIEF IN GOD
HOW CAN WE FORGET THE VETERANS WHO FOUGHT AND SOLDIERS WHO DIED FOR THIS COUNTRY WHICH IS BASED ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
These words in caps are my words. I want to shout to the heavens for our American right to freedom of speech and religion and the right to pray in public if we so desire.
There are people in this country who want to take our rights away.
FIGHT BACK WITH LETTERS AND CALLS TO OUR LEADERS WHO ARE FIGHTING FOR THIS CAUSE.
*I have not found this on Snopes.
Please visit our host for Outdoor Wednesday at, A Southern Daydreamer. Thank you Susan for being our gracious host each week.
Blessings, Jeanne
We do need to stand strong for our beliefs. Too many become complacent. Great post.
We woke up this morning to Mom yelling our names. Somehow something became disconnected on the toilet in the bathroom on the main floor of our home. The floor was standing in water, and it leaked through to the garage ceiling below. Part of that ceiling has fallen all over my car. I'm seeing dollar signs.

Hi Jeanne,
Thank you for this beautiful post. How often we take our freedoms and those that have secured them for us for granted!

Good morning Jeanne. I've received similar emails and agree completely. Every morning when we say the Pledge of Allegiance in school I am glad to say "one nation under God".
take care,
Dawn

Morning, Dear Jeanne! Oh, I'm standing up tall with you on this post! It is time we need to stand up for what we cherish. Bless you for reminding us we need not to be silent!
Blessings,
Shelia
Oh, little Cheri is adorable! What a little precious! I just want to pick her up and hold her. She's darling and I'm so proud for you. Isn't she a glorious color and with the little white touches.

Morning Jeanne. That ACLU is totally NUTS!
Posted by: Sally | November 11, 2009 at 09:57 AM
The ACLU sickens me! Thank you for being brave to post these things. I'm visiting every blogger I can find who is honoring these vets today. Hubby spent the last 2 weekends passing out Buddy Poppies at our local stores. He's the youngest vet I know, chick!!! But he belongs to the VFW and works tirelessly for them.
xoxo,
Connie
God bless our troops!!!!

Hi Jeanne
I don't alway believe everything that comes in e-ail forwards as often they spread untruths, but I loved the photos that accompanied this one. I think most military issue headstone have been uniform rectangular since the Civil War? The symbol of faith be it a Cross, a Star of David or a Crescent Moon is inscribed on the top of the stone. That is how it is in the National Cemetery my Dad is buried in.
Happy Outdoor Wednesday Happy Veterans Day!
Hugs, Pat

a poignant post.

Jeanne, I'm not sure that the ACLU can have the government remove headstones or stop putting the symbols of people's faith on the ones they use now. While I wouldn't put anything past them, I have to stop and wonder if this is not a rumor. Like Pat said above, the gravestones I've seen have the symbol of your faith on them... if you are Jewish, it's a star of David while Christians get crosses, etc. But whatever the case, I do remember our heroes and our ancestors who struggled that we might be free. I have about eight patriot ancestors from the American Revolution, two of who were martyrs. One day, I'm going to do a post on them because the story of the Rev. James Caldwell and his wife is a fascinating tale. They were killed because of their patriotism. Caldwell, NJ is named in their honor, and Caldwell, Liberia is named in their son's honor as he founded the American Colonization Society. But enough of that. I join you in prayers of thanksgiving and protetction for our service members and their families.
Love to you and Happy Veterans Day...
XO,
Sheila :-)

WHAT? Are you kidding me Jeanne. Of all things to take away. Shame on them. Not this too?
Thank you to you and hubby for your kindness today. I'm so glad you read my post. Most do not read the whole thing. They pass up the most important piece of information.
I love you both very much and CC of course.
Thank you for remembering.
Love the photo's Jeanne.
Love YOU

The sad thing about them wanting to take prayer away....so many people nowadays don't go to church or pray that they may just allow it to happen by not caring enough about it. I hope more people will take a stand and let everyone know that prayer and God are important. It's not just about being a good person in life, God and prayer is an important part of our lives too!

Just lovely, Jeanne, as always. I sent this immediately to Chris this a.m. so he could enjoy it on "his" day.
I hope you'll look in tomorrow at Lawn Tea---it's my 300th post and my first anniversary.

It is just so sad that so many want to remove prayer and Christ from Christmas just calling it holidays. Now, to take away crosses? CRAZY!! I thank God everyday for the wonderful soldiers fighting for our country.
Sorry I couldn't visit yesterday, I had a bad migraine and had to just sleep.

Fabulous post! Thank you for proudly standing up for what you believe. We need more Christians to do so.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful post with us.

Darlene, you are right. I am so sick of hearing Christmas and Easter being called winter break and spring break in schools. Really wrong.
