Diane at, A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words, is out host for today's event. Sharing our thrifty buys and vintage treasures that were a bargain find is so much fun. Please visit Diane's blog for more treasures that may have been around many times.
Lately I have been hitting Good Will and the auction house for some great buys. Today I couldn't go to the auction but my sister did attend. Wouldn't you know I am sharing a bargain and I wasn't even there. My sister bid on a box lot ( a flat box with assorted items for sale together) and won the bid for a mere $5.00. She bid on it because she knew I would love the items in the box. On her way home (she IS my backyard neighbor) she dropped off my box.
Ta Da...
I love the green glass and brass on this candle holder.
You know I collect paper weights and this one was in the box.
The red tablecloth for the background was not the best but this pear is multicolored and beautiful.
One other paper weight I will share later. The photo was not good and I was not up to taking more.
IT'S LATE AND I AM TIRED.
So...three beautiful treasures for $5.00
I'm so LUCKY!!!!!

QUILT PROJECT DAY 19
I am not pleased with this layout so I will be tweaking it tomorrow. The tree and the woodpecker will be appliqued to the square after it is sewn together. The tree is so big. this should be interesting.
I am so happy that so many of you are enjoying my quilt progress. You really keep me motivated
THANK YOU SO MUCH MY DEAR FRIENDS.
Love, Jeanne
What a great find, and hand-delivered to your door!!!
Heaven help our overflowing house if GoodWill ever gets delivery service!!
The little pear is indeed a treasure.

G'morning, my sister friend,
I am lovin' your Goodwill treasures...wonderful to have a sweet sis to buy things for you when you can't go. A friend and I have a lunch date and a day of thrifting all planned for this week. Hope we find something good.!!
Loving watching you make this quilt. Will you do the quilting yourself after finishing the quilt top? The quilting on a regular, old Singer machine is such a HUGE job, I doubt I will ever try it again. I'd love to make the tops and have someone else quilt them..:)
Have a blessed and fun day, my friend.

Love ya lots, gal and hope that you have a delightful week! Your quilt is amazing!! Will you keep it or gift someone with it? What a piece of art!!

Morning Jeanne,
I think that is fabulous that your sister won the box of treasures for $5.00. What FUN! That little pear looks beautiful and what a pretty candlestick. I have been burning my candles. I just love candles during the dreary winter months.
LOVE how your quilt is progressing. I am off to W-Mart for a few items for this weeks menu. I am enjoying trying new recipes. Hope I continue with my menus. Have a great day Jeanne.♥

So, you have what is known in the antique business, a "picker"! She did a great job on her auction purchase for you!
I didn't ask before, but are the birds hand or machine appliqued? Either way, it's lots of work.
I'm sorry about your uncle. L, Dana
