Diane at, A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words, is our host for this event. Thank you Diane for hosting a fun thing to share. Thrifty shopping is my passion. Please visit Diane's blog for lots of thrifty and vintage treasures. Or maybe a wonderful find that can be re-purposed and ideas to share.
I am sharing some thrifty buys and some vintage books that I have collected for some time. Most of the books are about gardening. I love old gardening books and I am always on the lookout for them. These books are in our entertainment center.
Bookends are a thrifty buy and so are the birds. The vintage books were found in various places. Antique shops, thrift stores and flea markets. I can't remember all of the prices. But, if you know me, they were a bargain. I probably splurged a bit on a couple of the books.
If you haven't thrift shopped, you are missing out. One visit now and then is not enough. Visit your stores often for the best chance to find a true bargain.
Happy thrift shopping
Love, Jeanne
I vaguely remember days of shopping, and they were great fun. Maybe I will experience it again - one of these days.
Love you. I'm heading out the door.

Your vignette looks so pretty. Love those old books with the birdies. Also, those globe bookends are wonderful. We got a light dusting of snow this morning and it has already stopped. Crazy weather!!! Enjoy your day Jeanne.♥

Hey Jeanne,
Well this post of yours is making me want to run up the road and visit our area thrift store. I check it once in a while because it's near the little store I work at.
Thanks SO much for your encouragement. Having surgery is a bit of a new journey for me. I've never had one nor have ever been "put under."
But I am TRUSTING the Lord to watch over me.
I'm just having a "scheduleing issue" today and trying to cut through some red tape. Crazy.
I'll be checking back later to see what's new here with you!!
Be BLESSED!

I love looking at old books in thrift/antique shops, too, Jeanne. I get very excited when I find a really old childrens book and, if the price is right, I have been known to grab em up! Love your birds, too!
Hope you're having a great Tues!! It's still really cold here....supposed to be even colder tonight! :( L, Dana

Hi Jeanne!
I also like to collect antique books. Thye are very often so well crafted and beautifully illustrated. Your bird bookends are very pretty!
I saw it was a grandson's birthday a few days ago --what a handsome young man!
Hope your weather has cleared up and is getting warmer. We had a rainstorm today but it wasn't snow so I was happy! :-)
Hugs, Pat
