Sally at, Smiling Sally, is our gracious host for this fun event. Thank you Sally for keeping this Blue Monday going through thick and thin. Please visit Sally's blog for lots of treasures in blue.
Today I am sharing a story about my cousin Marilyn. Those of you who know me have read about my cousin Marilyn numerous times on my blog. We are very close and have a long history of visits to Florida and North Carolina. We are close to the same age and have always loved each other dearly.
My cousin Patty who lives in So. Carolina, sent me an Email which prompted me to send her this story. Since she is a dear cousin too, I thought she would get a laugh out of this incident that happened on one of Marilyn's visit to me.
Marilyn Her dh Jerry and me ( I recently shared this photo)
The story begins with this...
This subject was prompted by a joke involving...I think you will figure it out. This story is exactly as it happened... written by me (Jeanne)
MY COUSIN MARILYN
I have a funny story about my cousin Marilyn. Through the years she has flown to Florida to visit the 'sisters' and most of the time she stayed with me. This one visit I picked her up at the airport and threw her bags in my trunk. When we arrived home, as we started to unload her luggage, we heard a buzzing sound coming from her suitcase. That was the time when hijacking and bomb threats were a constant threat. We stopped in our tracks and stepped back in horror. "What was that noise?" I asked Marilyn, " Is there anything in your suitcase that would make that noise?" Her answer was, "NO WAY." We pondered this and stood there forever trying to get the nerve to get her suitcase into the house and open it. Finally our curiosity got the best of us. She wouldn't go near her suitcase so I knew I would have to open it and take my life in my own hands. I put the suitcase on the floor away from everything and unlatched the dangerous thing. The buzzing continued, increasing my fear by the second... time seemed to go by so slowly. Especially when I wanted to do this and run. I finally threw open the suitcase and ran to the other side of the room. The suitcase was buzzing, buzzing, buzzing, but no explosion happened. We both crept slowly to the suitcase and couldn't see anything. Buzz. Buss, Buzz...nothing happened. At last we dumped the suitcase and out dropped the dreaded buzzing 'bomb'...Her bikini razor hit the floor buzzing away. No lie, we rolled on the floor with laughter.
Next week I am sharing my grandson's bedroom.
Today I am sharing a 'sneak preview' part of one wall which was painted by his father.
Tune in next Monday
Oh Jeanne -- I could picture this as I read your story it and it made me laugh so hard! I can imagine how confused and scared you were at the buzzing and then how surprised to find out it was her razor making the noise is too funny! Wonderful photo!

We have much in common, don't we? :) You have a blessed day up in Franklin~ Hey, I have a girlfriend that lived near me in Charlotte that hails from Franklin. Her name is Gina...do you by chance know anyone that is from there by that name? She is a sweetheart too, always a big smile on her face. You take care~ ~CC Catherine

What a great story. I enjoyed reading this and putting myself in your place. The real life stories are the best. I would have probably called the police to check it out. One thing for sure, your grandson's father is a very talented man. That portion of his room is amazing work.

That's you---prepared for anything. And I LOVE your relationship with all your family---I have so few left, and we're so scattered. I love seeing you all getting together and having such wonderful visits.

Well if that would have been Julie and I, God only knows what would have been "buzzing" in that cute vintage blue suitcase LOL
I could actually think of a few things ROTFLMHO (not even sure that says what I want it to).
Your cousin is beautiful just like you Jeanne.
Just talked to Julie via email. She's doing ok. Had a low offer on the house, so no go yet. She's been working long hours at the hosp.
Happy Blue Monday
Love You

Jeanne, your cousin Marilyn is lucky to have you to help her through the scary times (and the fun times). For some reason I was expecting something else buzzing away in that pretty blue case. My mind and Claudie's apparently run on the same track:) Can't wait to see the mural. looks spectacular so far!

Thank goodness it was just a razor.
Great Blue Monday Post.
Next week's looks amazing too.
Can't wait to see it.

That's really a hilarious story - bet you all roll around laughing every time it's retold!!
I hope so much you will be back in Raleigh some day soon - we all miss seeing you Jeanne. Vanessa's mom is here from Brazil and we are trying to show her around all the treasure trove places. She enjoyed shopping at SuzAnna's last week!
Hugs - Mary
P.S. Leaving May 12 on my trip. Getting excited now!!

How funny was that? Only, I thought it might be something worse! LOL! ;O) Love that her suitcase is Carolina Blue. Her husband reminds me of Santa. Sorry I haven't been a good visitor or blogger lately. My baby has had a double ear infection and at the same time, my 10 yr. old was diagnosed with mono. We're having to keep her very inactive, so that we won't face the possibility of her spleen rupturing, which hasn't been easy given she likes sports. I hope to be back to normal, whatever that is, soon! Hope that quilt is coming along nicely. I need to scroll down and see what you've gotten done. Have a good week & thanks for coming by! ;O)
