Today I am having a bit of fun sharing an event my daughter participated in this past week. Her church middle school youth group is a group she has been active in this past year. This is about the end of the year 'Silly Show' presented by the women who teach this group of children. They give awards to the kids for various fun reasons. She presented an award for the kid who would most likely be from another era. The era was the 70's when hot pants and boots were the outfit of the day. A skit was done with this idea and my daughter dressed up in hot pants and boots for the part. She is 43 years old and has no memory of this era.
Since she called me and asked me about hot pants I dug up an old photo where I was wearing hot pants and boots. She wanted to see it, so here it is, I was about thirty three and had five children. What was I thinking. HA!
Here's a laugh. My dh is sitting here while I write this post and he just said..."It's no wonder we had five children, just look at you in that photo." I love that man!!!
Ok, back to my post!!!
No laughing allowed
Andrea, my daughter, my sister Diane, me, my mom, my sisters Carmen and Jane Anne.
Hot pants and boots, NOT a majorette costume. HA!
Our daughter Christina, when she was a bride.
My only redhead. (auburn)
Christina now, in her costume and a blond wig.
Christina and me in a recent pic.
I hope turquoise is an acceptable blue!!!
Happy blue Monday
Love, Jeanne
HotPants and Boots....what a hoot, Jeanne. I hadn't thought of those in ages. Your DH is right...Gal, you do look HOT! Funny how words get recycled in time....my grandson used that word recently to describe a teen pop star on TV...he's only nine...LOL! I said it recently in reference to what I like to call 'Power Surges' in the middle of the night. Love the photo of you and the Gals...ya'll are a tall group, and your pretty daughter is tall and fun lovin'....just like her Mama. Turquoise is my favorite Blue. Groovy Post!

Ah, yes. You know I remember that look. I'll be certain to show this to my mother. And, tell Bill I know he loved it - and he adores you.
Christina, you look fantastic. I always knew you were like your mother. ;-) Love the blond wig.
I love you both and think you are both gorgeous.

It always amazes me to see my parents dressed differently and looking oh so young. And look at you! NO wonder indeed LOL Your husband is just too sweet ... . and after all these years :-) It warms my heart to hear something like that between married couples. It's nice to look forward to something where you share things and everything with someone you love.

Li

How cute you looked in your hot pants and boots Jeanne! I remember wearing hot pants. I was in HS. I am surprised my Mom let me out the door!
Your daughter looks great in her hot pants and blonde wig!

Bill hit the nail on the head, Jeanne, you were a hottie! You still are and so is that darling girl of yours! Must be a genetic thing!! :) When I was that age, a pranced around in those hotpants, too. How I long for that former weight and tight skin again! :)
Have a fun Monday! L, dana

I remember that time, Jeanne. I had some wigs and white boots too. Thanks for the memories. Happy Blue Monday.

Jeanne, look at you! You were a red hot mama in those hot pants! GORGEOUS! You still are a red hot mama! :-) And I just screamed when you said it was not a majorette costume! LOL! You funny girl! But you were and are a beauty.
And look at your sweet Christine so beautiful in her wedding dress and so decked out in her mini skirt! Cute post! Yes, turquoise counts!
XO,
Sheila :-)

I loved your post for today. The shade of blue is not as important as the subjects you shared. That is a cute shot of the two of you.

Well, at least you could get away with it! You have nice legs. (The belt on that outfit is what's kinda strange, makes you look a bit like Wonder Woman!)
Very funny!! I wouldn't dare post old pics of me, eek, the bad perms and weird clothes are just too much.
thanks for sharing these pics! Have a great week.

I had the white boots that zipped up the back, I remember we called them go go boots too. I have a few pics but I don't think I will post them. Your daughter looks cute in her costume, and you looked fantastic, you with 5 kids.

Hi Jeanne!
You and your daughter are beautiful and certainly had the figure for hot pants!
I am in Colorado this week spending time with my grandson. He's beginning to talk and I've had a lot of fun having "conversations" with him! He's a bundle of energy but so much fun!

Oh Jeanne - you were one smokin' hot mama! Five kids? Look at those long pretty legs!! What a figure! You're gorgeous - then and now! I love this post! Your daughters are so beautiful!
Christina is so cute in her costume and she does not look her age!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Oh Jeanne, I just LOVE this post. I totally remember the hot pants era, and I think you look terrific in your hot pants and boots. Your daughter has done a terrific job recreating the look too--how fun. It sure is interesting and good for laughs to look back at fashion trends over the years isn't it? We got married in the era of powder blue tuxedos and our kids find this just hilarious!

Hi Mom! Great post. I saw it first thing this morning but I didn't leave a comment. You look far out in your outfit. I had a lot of fun with dressing up. I believe the wig is what gave me the courage to follow through with the plan though. It was a groovy night!
Love ya,
Christina

Hi Jeanne! I'm up in my 'grandma' bedroom this afternoon working on a pillow and checked my comments and there you were! :)
Well, in my little china cabinet I actually used scrapbooking paper and just stuck it in there with double stick tape.
It was in my den that I covered foam board with fabric to cover the backs. I found the foam board at Hobby Lobby. I just poked the foam board in, after the fabric was on it and they fit just fine. I didn't do anything to attach them. Course with all the things on my shelves they probably couldn't fall over! :)
Hope that helped.
Guess what? I wore hot pants too but I didn't look like you!! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

I can't believe how much Christina looks like you in this pic. All this time, I thought she looked like Bill. Adorable. Caralie

How could I have missed this one?
I LOVE IT. You were HOT. See if you were my mom... we would have matched lol
I loved wearing hot pants and my go go boots. The shorter the better... the skirt that is. My father would look at me and say "are you sure you can go out like that?".
You are as tall as your mom Jeanne. She was beautiful also. All of you. I had the pleasure of meeting Chistina. I would never have recognized her in that wig though LOL
Great Blue Monday.
Love you to the moon and back.
