BLUE MONDAY - MEMORIAL DAY

MAY WE ALWAYS REMEMBER AMERICAN SOLDIERS ON MEMORIAL DAY...WE HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIED PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY IN ANY WAR .

Red Poppies are recognized as the Memorial Day flower.

In 1915, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields," Moina Michael replied with her own poem:

We cherish too the poppy red

That grows on fields where valor led,

It seems to signal to the skies

The blood of heroes never dies.

Very lovely post Jeanne. I didn't know that red poppies is the Memorial flower. It's just pretty.

Beautiful post Jeanne. Love the vintage postcard. At the National War War II Memorial here in our city, there is a glass floor to walk across thats over the orange poppies. One for everyone who died in WWII. Its well worth the visit. Happy Holiday to you and yours.
