Please visit Linda at, Coastal Charm for wonderful thrifty buys to share. We love our thrifty treasures.
Thank you Linda for hosting this fun event.
Today I am sharing a very different style of rooster. He is a pottery rooster. It was love at first sight. I found him and won the bid for him at our local auction.
The price was $25. but his value is much more. You might think he wasn't so thrifty but he is very NIFTY and worth every cent.
I love him. Well love is a strong emotion. So you might say I am very strong for him. Smile!!!
He looks so perfect on my mosaic rooster tray. This tray was hand done by my good friend Penny at, Lavender Hill Studio. She is an artist of many things but her mosaics are beautiful and for sale. Her shop features her mosaic art among many other treasures. She finds thrifty treasures and makes them gorgeous. You don't want to miss a visit to her blog.
Happy thrifty shopping.
Love, Jeanne
Good Morning Jeanne!!

Penny

Hi, Jeanne... love your "roos" as Shelia would say! Very neat!
Hope you are having a fun summer (I know you have had fun with the grands!) and that the weather is nice. I just took the garbage out, and it is SO pleasant outside. The humidity... gone! Hallelujah! Humidity was trailing in that storms wake, and we had it like a wet blanket for several days despite the fact we didn't get the storm itself. I'm a very happy camper. YEA!
Hope you are having a great day, my dear friend...
Love you,
Sheila :-)

I think the fun you had at the auction adds to the value. He is a handsome bird and the tray is beautiful.

Good Morning!!! It was so great to see your comment/message just now!! I'm glad you're going to spend time with your daughter..sorry it's cuz she had surgery. I have injured my rotator cuff twice. The last time was a year and a half ago...at the GYM on some new piece of equipment!!! It took up until not too long ago for it to feel nearly normal. I had to baby it for a couple of months, then I eased back into upper body exercises on that side. Our teacher at the gym basically rehabbed be!! We now do tons of rotator cuff exercises in our classes. It's a miserable injury and I know mine haven't been nearly as involved as your daughter's cuz I didn't need surgery. Tell her I sorta feel her pain!! :)
I LOVE your 'strong' rooster :) and I love the gorgeous tray that Penny created. She is truly an artist!! I also read yesterday's post ..... I know that camp site must be amazing....just like that Honda generator! :) We have a HUGE thing we bought during the ice storm of 2002....when we had no electricity for 9 days. We haven't had to use it since...but it's ready, just in case! :)
Have fun with your girl!!! L, Dana

Dearest Jeanne,
I also think that the rooster you bought is worth it. It's really nice and complements well with the mosaic table made by your friend, Penny. Ooh, plus the wines!
Blessings,
The Muse

Cock-a-doodle-do dear Jeanne!!! It's a damp and sticky morning here after actually getting rain yesterday - thank goodness!
When I look through the steamy windows I see plenty of birds at the feeder but no roosters!! Love yours on Penny's beautiful table. You are right to mention her always gorgeous work - I've seen her studio full of ongoing amazing mosaic projects, all so fabulous, she's the best! Besides that, she is also the sweetest lady and I had such fun going 'treasure hunting' with her in Asheville last year.......can't wait to go again and you MUST join us then.
Happy day dear - thanks for stopping by recently. Vanessa is back from her first West coast visit and is coming over for coffee this morning, can't wait to hear her travel tales.
Hugs - Mary
