It's not too late to go on a picnic is it? In fact this coming season makes a much more comfortable time to picnic weather wise.
So, for a long time I have been looking for a picnic basket. You know. the kind that has all the 'stuff' inside.
You are not going to believe this find for $15. I'm in love with this treasure trove of picnic 'stuff.'
TA DA!!!
Are you excited yet?
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in LOVE , WITH THIS BEAUTY.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS. A PICNIC BASKET WITH CLASS. SMILE.
Now, drinking a glass of wine on a picnic, really appeals to me.
Just a small glass!
OF COURSE!!!
I will take photos of the first picnic we have and post it.
I do not think anyone has ever graced this lovely treasure with a picnic. It is brand new.
Lucky me!
Keep on thrifting.
Love, Jeanne
What an elegant picnic service!! I, too, have always had an imaginary picnic tableau in mind---the pretty cloth on the grass, a cold roast chicken or ham set upon it on a plate, a bottle of wine and glasses set down, and a basket brimming with a long loaf of bread and a cascade of fruit. (Even Heckle and Jeckle, the rapscallion duo from cartoons, had those refined repasts).
What we DO have are Tupperware, always filled with yummy goodies, and several old Red Man picnic baskets, plus a cheery red and white Coleman cooler.
Doesn't THAT sound elegant? But it IS fun.

I'm in Firefox browser. Now I can leave a message. GEE WHIZ My font is even different lol
I'm a sucker for picnic baskets too Jeanne. I always buy them, then give them away. I have one that is loaded and looks like a backpack. I'll give it to one of the "girlfriends", meaning Colt, or Riley's or maybe Brittany.
Hey did you see my invitation? I have 2 very excited ladies so far. Miss Bee and Claudia. Oh gosh it's going to be sooooooo much fun.

Love the picnic basket and I think the weather is just about perfect for one now. Except for your upcoming storm...eek! My son just said he is heading to North Carolina do a Dental Clinic for the next 3 days.:)
Thanks for letting me know of the benefit for Beverly blog. I am heading over to let her know I will participate;)~♥

You'll have fun using that adorable picnic basket. Great find.

I feel a posh picnic in the air with that sweet basket to carry the goodies. For me it would be a freshly baked crunchy baguette, some French cheese, fresh fruit - perhaps raspberries and blueberries.......along with a chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. A green field with daisies and birds serenading......a perfect late Summer afternoon with the temps. lower (please!!!), and no hurricanes in the forecast!
Jeanne dear, lovely to hear from you, thanks for the sweet comment. I am so thrilled you will at Penny's brunch. Bob and I are driving up on the Friday and staying over two nights. Already made our reservations - only just squeezed in as the 'leaf-peepers' have filled most of the hotels! Can Bill come with you so we can meet? Bob and Kent will spend some time together on Sat. while we gals have our fun, so he could hang out with them and do 'guy things'.
Looking forward to seeing you again - it has been far too long!
Hugs - Mary

Isn't it more rewarding when you find a great deal on something you've actually been wanting for some time? I'm glad it made you so happy!
It really is lovely. Enjoy!

Hi Jeanne!
This is a beautiful picnic basket at such a good price! I am still hoping to use the one I won from your give away last year. It was unbearabley hot and humid for most of this summer and any plans for a picnic were put off. Now that autumn is coming I hope to have one in cooler weather :)
I left a post of Beverly's Pink Saturday post last night...I am so happy to help out in any way to asist Kelee and Colette. As you can imagine things have been very hectic since we returned home and while away I had almost no computer time, even if the hotel had wifi, which many did not. In Yosemite we could not even get phone service. It was such a wonderful vacation! Next trip will be to see our grandson ..I can't wait!

I LOVE picnic baskets....and YOURS is wonderful! I bought a couple this summer. One is vintage and filled with the original plasticware.....and it had been used!! The owner was the sweetest LOL (that stands for Little Old Lady...not Laughing Out Loud!)....she had 15.00 on it and took 10.00. Then she sold me the most AWESOME, vintage folding metal chair (like no other I'd ever seen before) for 1.00. I have a "thing" about vintage picnic tablecloths, too. The checked kind. I have them in red, blue and now BLACK!! I've never used them...I just buy them when I find them cheap! One day, I will have a Patio Picnic.....and each table will have it's own picnic basket....and special table cloth. Maybe I'll do that when you come to KC the next time!!! OK....it's starting to thunder now....the storm they've predicted all night is making itself known!!
Have a terrific Wednesday! L, Dana

Jeanne, you always have such neat finds. You'll be fun to go antiquing with. I'm looking forward to meeting you at Penny's brunch in Asheville in October. I've only been to one blog get-together and we had a ball.
See you soon.

LOL...we just tried (unsuccessfully) to sell a basket almost exactly like that (only not quite as nice because the handle's are broken). My husband is allergic to the outdoors (pretty much every season makes him miserable in it's own way), so we never picnic. It's just collecting dust in our garage.
