BLUE MONDAY -Breakfast at Grandma's house

BREAKFAST AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE

I hope you are not totally sick of my grand kid's week posts because I am sharing another day at grandma's.  Actually I just found these photo's last night as I was trying to think up a blue post.  Blue 'things' get to be a bit of a bore so this is a day in the life post. Once again!!!

We woke up this particular morning and the sun was coming up like this...

Some of my grands get up early.  I heard them whispering and this is my morning greeting.  I may have shared this view before because it was stunning.

Eleven extra people to feed is a chore but this morning my daughter Christina, along with me, fed the 'gang' French toast and sausages.  The table setting is just as it should be, good food and throw away dishes when feeding a small army.

Here we go...

Christina gave me this griddle and it is a lifesaver when cooking for 'many.'

Check out the homemade maple syrup in the quart jar.  My niece who lives in MI brought this to me.  Her hubby Paul makes it and sells it just for fun. Yes, that is his photo on the jar.  it is sooo delicious.

My mom's vintage fork.  I love that fork because it is the best for turning meat when cooking.

They look happy because my grands love this breakfast.

Jake wouldn't even take time out for a smile.  Molly Rose is hiding braces in this smile.

Cody has braces too.  He hates to smile. 

His brother Caleb is helping him out.  It looks like the jar of syrup is almost gone.  I have two, this is the almost empty one.  One of anything is never enough for this week of feeding a bunch of hungry grands three meals a day and lots of snacks.  Like at least, 5 galleons of ice cream.

WOW your first picture is stunning.....so gorgeous out all of those beautiful, big windows! All the grands are so CUTE and YES, that is a PERFECT breakfast....YUM!!

Lexi will probably be getting braces in March. She has had an expander on her teeth for several years and she has an appointment in Sept. to get 3 baby teeth pulled where adult teeth are growing up under them but they just don't want to come out.

I am SOOOOO excited because the middle of this week our high temp. is supposed to be 82 with a low of 60!!!! YAY, I am ready for that Fall feeling....even if it only lasts a couple of days.♥

I never tire of family events or meals. This is a great breakfast with the kids. It may be a little hectic sometimes but think of the great memories you will have later in life. You have a great family so enjoy them.

OH, MY FRIEND! What a lovely time you had, and I'm so glad you remembered to include this wonderful morning. Sleepy faces, and toss-away dishes and a scrumptious scent filling the house as they awoke.

There's nothing like the cuddle of a warm breakfast, all toasty and sweet, on a day at Grandma's. I remember them so well, and now I AM her. I try to re-create some of the sweet memories for my own Grands, and we all enjoy them.

That thick, beautiful toast must have stood them well on all the adventures of the day.

Hi Jeanne, those french toast look mighty good this morning! Its so much fun when company comes to visit, especially the grandkids. Its so much work for us and when they leave, my husband and I look at each other and say "listen"! (you don't hear anything!)

You know what I had to do with the comments? Change my name! I had to re type everything in. Oh well here I am, thank god.
I think the comment box missed me or something lol it's making me work darn-it.
You know I know how those French toast taste right? You made them for Julie and I when we visited you, and YES THEY WERE YUMMY. You make the BEST.
So we have sun today. We had a very "fall" weekend. It rained all weekend. Randy and I did get to se "EAT,PRAY,LOVE" with Julia Roberts. We liked it. I had read the book, so knew what to expect. It sure opened my eyes to a few things, but then the book really made me want to learn Italian and gain 20 lbs. lol
Randy just took Colt to the doctor. Colt has had a cough for weeks now. We want to make sure he doesn't need antibiotics. Just read a blog where a 15 year old died of Meningitis : (
Let's see what else is new... um.... Randy is having good days. He's writing another business book, so that's been keeping him busy. He has one more month with the job he's on now. Here we go again : ( I had told CC if Randy re-nued his contract (which he really has finished, and has nothing else to contribute to them) I would send her the money for a plane ticket to come and visit me in Sept. It's not looking good right now, but he has a couple head hunters after him, and will meet with them this week. So keep your fingers crossed and ok say a little prayer, that never hurts does it?
Riley is looking for a place to live close to his mechanic job this week. My sis is moving Sept 10th, just around the corner, and he's not coming back home to live, that's a given. Brittany went away this weekend with Dave, she's doing well, Colt is home from the cottage. Enjoying the rest of the summer before he starts University, along with Randy and Brittany.
I just want to jump in the pool and keep summer here a little bit longer.
So that's what's up around here today.
I'm making spaghetti, but seems that I don't have all the right ingredients LOL oh well.

I don't get tired of reading about special family togethernesses and grandchildren.. :o) Lovely family. That is a lot of people and the french toast looks very delish. I love the room in the top picture. The windows are so large and open...very nice. My guys had braces too...one loved them and one hated them. They do like to hide their smiles but when they are out they will be so proud of their teeth forever they'll catch up on their smiles..*s*..
