Yes, this was my Pink Saturday post which I am carrying over for Blue Monday and Show off your Cottage Monday
This is definitely appropriate for Blue Monday and Show off your Cottage Monday. so a BIG welcome to my Blue Monday and Show off your Cottage Mon. viewers.
A great BIG THANK YOU to Sally at, Smiling Sally, for being our long standing host for our bloggers who love the color blue. Don't miss all of the lovely blue at Sally's blog.
AND ...Cielo at, The House in the Roses, for hosting Show off your Cottage Monday.
Thank you Cielo, this is always a fun event so be sure and check out the lovely cottages at Cielo's blog as well.
This is BEFORE...a dark purple color on the walls and the carpet has been removed. A wood laminate has been installed and you will see it in the next photos.
Thank you Andrea for all your hard work.
This is my daughter's friend who is 'also' named Andrea.
Andrea and I heading for Tennessee with all the furniture loaded in our big truck. That is our fifth wheel in the background.
I have been taking care of my daughter because she had rotator cuff surgery on her shoulder.
We are on our way. Andrea is not able to drive yet.
Getting started. Sage on three of the walls and a rose pink accent wall. The floor looks awesome. Thank you to Andrea's friends for all the hard work of getting this room ready to decorate.
The set up was HARD work. My daughter was still not able to do much so I had the job of setting up the bed. This furniture is from the 1940's and Bill and I slept on this bed for 44 years. The comforter was mine as well as the pictures on the walls. I saved them for Andrea for three years.
FINALLY THE BIG MAKEOVER IS FINISHED!
Without going into detail this could have been America's funniest video. We had to deal with a square bolt (vintage) and we took two trips to Home Depot to find a drill bit to increase the size of the opening where the bolt had to be tightened. When I tell you the process with the drill almost threw me across the room...I'm NOT kidding. HA! Look how pretty it looks. This was the hardest thing I have ever done. We needed a man!!! (I hate to admit that)
All I can say is... WE DID IT!!!
The corner cabinet was purchased by my daughter. It is vintage. She also had the vintage lamp and bowl seen in the next few photos. the cabinet is a perfect match for the era of the bed and highboy.
The items inside the cabinet are a work in progress. We did not want it to be empty. The dolls on top belong to her friend Reba. I wish I had taken a closeup of them. They are so pretty.
I have loved this highboy and I am so happy she has this bedroom set now. It once belonged to her paternal grandmother who passed away at age 37. It belongs to the right person now.
My daughter's lamp is a perfect match.
So is this gorgeous porcelain bowl. This too belonged to my daughter. When she bought these lovely pieces she wasn't sure where she would put them. They are now where they should be.
This was mine and it looks just right in it's new home.
My father made this picture for me. It is an art form with resin over a piece of fabric. He gave it to me to go with this furniture. It is fitting that I give it to his granddaughter for her room.
I hope you loved the blue and the pink.
Please visit Beverly for much more lovely pink at, How Sweet the Sound.
I hope you will forgive me for sharing this makeover with Beverly, Sally, and Cielo.
I think all this work deserves to be shared with the Pinkies, the Blue lovers, and cottage decorating.
BIG SMILE!
Love, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne! I've missed you and glad you're home and hope all works out for your puter to be up and running!

Hi Jeanne! Glad you were able to post! Oh, what a wonderful room for your daughter! She is so pretty! Everything is just so lovely in her new bedroom and how kind of you to pass on down the wonderful bedroom suite and other pieces from your parents. I have a highboy that looks just like that one. It's in my dining room and I'm sure you've seen it dozens of times.
You're a wonderful mother and I know your precious daughter loves and appreciates you so much!
Be a sweetie and rest now!!

Good Heavens, Girl!!! Is there anything you won't tackle?
This is absolutely splendiferously beautiful, and all the memories and family history attached to each piece---just so wonderfully archived for future generations, as well.
NO WONDER you needed some rest! This is just amazing---I'm gonna go look some more.
You go SIT DOWN.

Dearest Jeanne
Better late then never. Everything looks beautiful I am so very happy for Andy. You are so glad to finally give it to her. I love you both so much. Carmen

Oh Jeanne. You truly are the BEST MOM EVER. You go over and beyond what a girl can do. You amaze me all the time. I wish we lived closer, you would inspire me to just go go go, and then have a little snooze lol
Andrea is very lucky to have such great parents. I'm sure she knows that. Her room with all your beautiful furniture is just what the doctor ordered. I bet her arm will heal a lot faster now. I hope she had the air conditioner blasting for you : )
Oh how Bill and CC must have missed you. A man can only cook eggs a few diff. ways!
Another beautiful day here. It's been so nice. You should see Randy and I. We are completely tanned from floating around in the pool.
I'm so sorry to hear of your UTI.. what's with you and me? Are we connected at the hip or something? lol
I just showed Randy what you did here. He said " holy macaroni, she's got lot's of energy", tell me about it Jeanne. I'm looking again. AMAZING.
Ok so here we are, Pink Sat. and another weekend is upon us. WHere oh where is it all going? Summer is still here and we are enjoying it all. Colt is away at Jenna's cottage for another week, Riley started a new mechanic job that he loves, and Brittany is in love. So that's all good. I've been grooming a dog a day. Yeah sounds like a challenge, and it is, trust me. They are so matted from swimming in the pool, that it's taking me hours to de-tangle them. I've done Bella, P.J. and Sasha, now only Lucky, Tobby and Bonny left.....yuck.
I did get your email. Thank you. I have missed you so much, and now your back. Hurray for blog land.
I did post a couple nights ago. Had to get a few things off my plate, so it's a long one. You might need a cup of coffee, and hope your computer doesn't crash lol
The Greece festival is on in Ottawa. I think we will head out to it this week. The food is always amazing. My sis is back from the cottage already. We had a nice visit with my cousins there on Tuesday. Now she has to get ready for the big move. They move into their new house Sept 13th, just around the corner. So weird for them, or for me that is, that they are moving back to our home town. It's only an hour from here, but it's back roads, and in the winter it's terrible. Oh well Neenee will have a back yard to run in. I'm making her a little bed for her new home, with her name and it and "princess". I hope I remember to take pics.
So that's it for now my dear friend. So glad your home. I wish I could come over and give you a big hug. Here is a big kiss MWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Love you to the moon and back again.

WOW what a FABULOUS makeover on the bedroom! I can't believe you did so much of that.....GREAT job AND you did it without a man!!!!!....lol. Everything looks so perfect and just like it should. LOVE the lamp and the bowl.....well, actually I LOVE it ALL!
To answer your question. When I decided I needed to lose weight I did EVERYTHING. I started exercising (lots of calories get walked off on the treadmill at a pretty brisk pace with my Disco music blaring...lol). I also started counting calories and REALLY watched my portions. I measure everything. Also, I have cut out cookies, candy, cakes and whatever else sweet I was eating after EVERY meal. Switched to fruits for sweets and if I need chocolate I have a fat free Jello chocolate/vanilla pudding cup. Sooooo, as you can see I made a drastic change on everything. I am still with it and feeling better and better.♥

Happy Pink Saturday Jeanne Sweetie...
What a beautiful share today. I love the bedroom suite that you have now passed on to the next generation, your very own daughter. I love the sage green colored walls with the one accent to pop. It is just beautiful. A beautiful place to recover.
That corner cabinet and the tall boy look like they were bought together. You would never know would you?
What a beautiful spread for the bed, and I love the little side table accent cover as well. Even the lamp looks as though it were bought at the same time. It all matches so well.
She has a beautiful room and so many beautiful heritage items to pass on in years to come. Just beautiful Jeanne, just beautiful.
Many years ago I tore my rotator cuff and had to go through shoulder surgery, it was the worst. What did your daughter do to her shoulder? I will be keeping her in my prayers sweet friend.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Wow! What an amazing job you guys did! I know the prolems with shoulder surgery I've had two one one shoulder. The room looks awesome and the vintage furniture is just beautiful! Great JOB!

Wow! Jeanne that redo is spectacular!!! I loved the opening shot of the PINK shorts. . . so cute and PERFECT for your introduction to this Pink Saturday! :) That furniture is wonderful.......and so are all of the accessories you and Andrea pooled for the room!!! I love the paint color combination!!! Terrific job. . . . and I'm certain Andrea feels the outcome was worth the wait!! You're so a great mom!
I was gone all day! The breakfast group will be celebrating my birthday on Mon. at the bowling alley on The Square.....forgive me if I told you that already! I spent the day trying to find bowling related items for the "bowling banquet" we will have after we bowl. Bowling related items are rare, I found out. However, I have some things to work with. It should be interesting. My hubby is in Alaska!! He and 2 others are going to fish. . . a lot!! He just called and said they're trying to book a helicopter ride to fly them around Denali. I'm not pleased with that, but he's always wanted to. Pray for his safety!!! That man keeps me crazy! :)
We got a huge rain storm last night....many people had damage and lost power. We are fine....and it's still HOT. Hopefully, the cool air they predicted will make its way in tonight!!! I'm getting really sick of the temps.
Gotta go get ready to exercise a bit, then I'm in for the night.
Glad your internet is up and running. . . . it is aggravating when you can't get on line!!
REST!!! L, Dana

Happy Pink Saturday, dear Jeanne. I'm glad you're back up and running. We are so dependent to internet access.
This beautiful room is the culmination of the wonderful time you and Andy shared. I like the picture of the two of you in the truck. It shows how much she favors you. And, the room looks fantastic. It was nice seeing so many special things that I remember well. I know they will bring joy to her days.

What a great way to get Two for One out of this post!! PSat and BMon! :) I loved looking at those pix again!! You did such a great job!
Wish you were here today, Jeanne! It's the Bowling Babes Birthday Bash. . . I worked all day yesterday on special items for the event!! :) I'm certain they will appear in a post! I'm so in love with my computer. I "worked" alllllllll day with it yesterday and discovered so many things I can do with it. I have to make the time to go take some classes, but that won't happen for a couple of weeks. I have my first fall sale the 28th of Aug. and I haven't made a THING!! The promoter moved the date up an entire month. I can crank out stuff pretty quickly, however, and it is a small sale. I just have to get going with it. . . . maybe tonight after the bowling bash!! Wish you were here to hurl a few down the lanes with us!! THANKS for the invite to NC!!! I would love for that to happen!!!! You never know!
Have a swell day. Hi to Bill and hugs to Cheri'!! L, Dana
