A couple of monhs ago I posted about a chandelier that I bought at an auction for $25.00. I put white shades on the lights and I decided to change the shades to black. I want your opinion to tell me which shades you think look the best.
First the white shades
New black shades
I took this photo at night so it is hard to see it in the same light as the white shades.
I added a daylight view this morning.
I want your opinion please.
Happy thriftying.
Love, Jeanne
Well my opinion, the only one that matters, LOL is white for the summer/spring, and black for winter/fall. There now that's settled : )
Just got off the phone with Julie, Manon and CC tonight. It was a girlfriend day/night. Now I'm talking to you, not on the phone, but here on your sweet blog...and I'm first so I better post this before someone beats me to it.

I think the black looks richer but that may be because of the lights being on. The summer/winter mentioned above does seem like a good compromise. You could also decorate the white ones with some beads or cut outs if you wanted to. I'm the last person to say anything about decor- I still haven't found drapes for the Florida place. Not because I'm picky but because I can't remember to get them.

I love them with the black....definately!

The white is clean and crisp, accentuating the silver, and looks just perfect over an afternoon, Springtime table.
The black lends a more sophisticated look for day, and somehow accents the golden light of a Harvest dinner in Autumn.
They're both just lovely, and what a wonderful find!

Thank you so much for following my blog! I'm following you right back!
I vote for the black shades hands down. But that's b/c I love. love black accents. Your artwork and decor look to have deeper tones and the black just carries it through. Very pretty!

The black is very dramatic. I vote for drama. Your room is lovely.

I am so thrilled to find your blog, just love your blog name too!
The chandalier looks wonderful both ways and I would keep the black shades for winter and use the white for spring by then you will be ready for a change.
Have a wonderful day,
Rondell

I love both, but I'm going to go for the black. I think the black works well with what I could see in the background.

I like them both. I have chandeliers with both on them, and I really and truly like them both, Jeanne. You can't go wrong either way!

I like them both! LOL
The white is clean and crip while the black is dressy. Depends on what you like tho. You really can't go wrong :)
