Blue Monday is always the most fun meme that allows us to share our favorite blues. Sally at, Smiling Sally, is our host who keeps the fun going each Monday.
Please visit Sally's blog for lots of blue.
My Aunt and Uncle, AKA Billy Bob and Shirley, are fans of Dolly Partin and have visited Dollywood several times. When they were celebrating there 50th Anniversary their daughter sent a letter to Dolly Partin and asked her for a special Favor.
This photo is part of this story.
This antique spool chest has two photos that tells this story. On the right is my cousin Linda, Billy Bob and Shirley's daughter and on the left is a photo of Dolly Partin.
Linda asked Dolly, who is now on a first name basis in this household, if she would send a signed autographed photo to my Aunt and Uncle in honor of their special anniversary. The photo on the spool table is the photo Dolly sent with a very special signature. My cousin Linda couldn't wait to give this to her parents.
This is a photo of my Aunt and Uncle dressed like pilgrims at one of our family Thanksgiving celebrations.
No blue here but this is where they live in MI.
I have shared this lovely 100 year old home before. If you look at the porch they are both posing in this photo.
This is the photo from Dolly up close
My Aunt and Uncle have now been married 61 years and they are still going strong.
Aunt Shirley is my mom's youngest sister and the last surviving sibling from 10 children. They are now 84 years old. You may remember her aewsome button collections and many antique dolls and treasures she has collected over many years of selling antiques.
They are a wonder to me because whereever they go, they are always the life of any party or gathering.
When we visit our family in Michigan, their beautiful blue Victorian home is the place where many family parties have been held. I think I inherited the love of entertaining from My Aunt Shirley and Uncle Bill.
Blessings and love, Jeanne
Happy Blue Monday, my dearest friend. I am glad you are safely home once again. I am gazing out the window and having my last few sips of coffee before I leave for work. Autumn is in full bloom here - I would say our leaves are at peak right now.
Uncle Bill and Aunt Shirley are always cute. I smile thinking of them as Billy Bob and Shirley.

Morning, Jeanne! Oh, what a lovely story about your aunt and uncle. Their home is simply charming and they are as cute as buttons. That was good, huh, since she has all the olden buttons!! :)
That Dolly is kind to do this, isn't she? I know she's been chopped up to the moon, but she is a beautiful lady.
I love your stories and hope you have a wonderful week.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

How nice of Dolly to dress in blue--just for today! LOL
Your aunt and uncle certainly have good TASTE. Now, you might just take that for a Thanksgiving joke.
Happy Blue Monday, Jeanne.

So the ball is rolling today with my mom. Deb is taking her to a place today. She needs to go ASAP. Did you read my post? Deb is panicking a little, and I told her that everything will be ok. It will all fall into place.
So I'm going to spend some time there this week.

What a terrific story!! You've mentioned before what lovely, lively people they are, and it's certainly evident.
I'm so glad you have such wonderful folks in your life, and you in theirs---you've BOTH been blessed.

You touched a tender spot for me today. I truly enjoyed your post with Dolly Partin. She was my husband's secret love. We had poster of her. We had the occasion to see and visit with her before she became so big. She attended Six Flags the same day we did. We went to Pigeon Forge several times. I believe she has a face lift, as something looks different. She was recently on a TV show I saw. I have one of the first dolls they made of her.
