This is the second week to link for PINK SATUDAY. Beverly has gone to the linking system. Thank you Beverly for all the work of switching your meme to a system that will relieve you of endless hours working on the PS links each week.
Please visit Beverly's blog at, How Sweet the Sound, and PLEASE remember to link.
Last week the links were terrific. Good job Beverly.
The decorating of our cutout cookies is the best part of our annual sister and honorary sister cookie day for Christmas. The next best part is 'eating' them.
Note: My nephew Randy loves to help us out on cookie day too and he LOVES icing his favorite cutouts.
The recipe is from my vintage 1930's cookbook.
The celebrated recipe
This cookbook has the most beautiful illustrations in color. Here are a few from the book.
Icing the cookies now.
This where the artistic part comes in. it is time to ice the cutout cookies. The fun begins.
There is a discussion going on here. " I think my cookie is the best looking one." They may not say it but they are thinking it. Smile.
Did I say artists at work? I wasn't kidding.
When we are all done icing these cookies we share them by taking turns choosing one at a time until they are all chosen. You would not believe the banter going on while we do this. " That's mine don't take that one." " I worked so hard on that one save it for me." " I want that Santa cookie he is so cute." Everyone is very polite and no one gets upset. Not really! Here is the kicker. My sister says, "I go first, I'm the oldest." My other sister says, "no, I go first I'm the baby." LOL. We are laughing our heads off and very soon everyone is picking as fast as they can because by now we are getting so tired we don't care anymore.
I hope you enjoyed our cookie bake. I didn't share every cookie we baked today, as this could go on a very long time. May everyone have a happy Christmas cookie day. When all was said and done my kitchen was cleaned and beautiful once again. I was flat on the couch exhausted.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL...Jeanne
What a fun day! Great fun and great cookies-enjoy:@)

Remember Julie and I commented on your Cook Book? You have it sitting on your Island in the kitchen. We spotted it right away, remember? Now I didn't know you all had a cookie decorating contest lol LOVE IT. Oh I wish we lived closer Jeanne. It would be so much fun to bake with all of you. Well, I probably would sit back and make you some of your great Daiquiris, but egg nog with a little rum might go better lol
Happy PS dear friend. You would be pleased to know that I have put up ONE pink Xmas tree today, just one. Colt bought it for me last year, the little sweetheart.
Not much going on around here this weekend. Boys are home from their last day of school. Now exams begin!!!
Have fun in Fla.

Happy Pink Saturday Jeanne Sweetie...
Oh my what a beautiful share today. I love your vintage cookbook. You just never know when you go to a Thrift Store what you might find on the shelves, and I so love checking out the cookbooks. This one is wonderful. I love the colorful photos.
I'll tell you those swans are just so pretty. Can you imagine having those on your table to delight your dinner guests. Well you would be the talk of town for months I am sure. Love it. Just love it.
Now that cookie recipe sounds delish, and boy do they ever look tasty. Now let's see, I am taking the chocolate book, piped in white. I love chocolate. I hope nobody minds.
Your aprons and those smiles are worth a million bucks. Love it that your nephew likes to join in as well. That is so delightful. Randy will have memories to last him a lifetime, and so will each of you girls. How delightful to have each other close where you can share some of the fun festivities.
Have a beautiful weekend sweetie. As always such a pleasure to pop by and say hi. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

Every time you share one of your sister-times, I just get green with envy!! Again I say, you are so lucky to have your siblings and you are so fortunate that you are all so close! :) I'm dabbing little tears right now. I miss my sis so much and I am not close with my brother. However, I am SO lucky to have my kiddos near by and my grands and my great circle of friends and my niece and her MIL AND my hubby's family. So, it's all OK....I just really am very jealous of you....in a very good and loving way! :)
Your cookies look wonderful....and I won't tell you which one I would snatch, cuz I wouldn't want to hurt any feelings!! :) That cook book looks great....the old ones are the best ones...kinda like us! :)
My last sale was Fr and Sa...it turned out to be a good one. I came home with just a few of my creations...and also sold several vintage items!!! This sale is my favorite one, cuz I always see tons of folks I know and have gotten to know over the years of being a vendor there. My van is still packed with display pieces, but I hit the sofa as soon as I got home last night....and my lights were out! :)
Have a great Sun. and Happy Pink Saturday!! L, Dana

Don't you just LOVE old Cookbooks!! They have a place in our hearts that no other kitchen "items" seem to fill. While looking under the counter for a chafing dish yesterday, I sat there on the linoleum, thumbing through one of the old recipe card boxes that I've found at yard sales over the years---the old writing of forgotten dishes cramped and spidery and a little grease-stained, mixed with flimsy small clips from magazines and newspapers. Times gone by, and sweet memories, even if not our own.
And I LOVE YOUR MEMORIES, too!! Thank you for sharing them with us.
