OUR FIRST ADVENTURE
We drove about 50 miles round trip to see Bass Harbor where a lighthouse is still standing streadfast and true.
Here is a bit of history
An artist's rendition of the lighthouse
My photo taken at nearly dusk, Lots of shadows.
This is a side view of the lighthouse. The next photo shows the lightkeeper's home which is attached to the lighthouse.
So quaint.
Bass Harbor Bay. The rocks are the danger in this bay to this day.
This is a viw from the path down to the waters edge and the lighthouse. I don't know what the little building has to do wth the lighthouse.
This bell was near the lighthouse and is a mystery. Maybe it was used to also alert the ships that sailed through the bay.
On the way back to our home on wheels we stopped at a very popular ice cream place.
Mmmmmm, I had Butter Peacon and Bill had French Vanila.
I think it might be a regular stop while we are here. The lines were very long and we have to say, the ice cream was delicous.
More of wonderful Maine soon.
Love,
JEANNE

You know I love lighthouses....lol....I forwarded Don the link and he said they were great pictures. Looks like a lovely place and that ice cream shop sounds like a stop we would have to make too. Take care and thanks for taking us with you on this fun trip.

Good morning, dear Jeanne.
It looks as if this was a interesting outing. We love lighthouses, too. And, we have so many wonderful ones in our state. I think lighthouse keepers had to be a very special type of person to do their job.
Mom's favorite ice cream is butter pecan. The boys and I went for ice cream yesterday, too. We go to this wonderful place run by and located at a local dairy. I had one scoop of banana and another scoop of honey almond.

And the sun is shinning Jeanne : )
How wonderful to have some cool things to blog about. My cool is not so cool. Just moving dirt around, stones, dust rock...
Finished grooming all 6 dogs yesterday. They look like little rats. The pool is coming along. It's suppose to be 90 today so the air conditioner is on full blast. I hired Riley's friend Nic to come and help out. So far so good.
Randy and I are going to Manon's restaurant in Mtl. on Sat night. Can't wait to be in the city that I love again. Our other friends will be meeting us there also.
That's about it for now. I'm putting on the sunscreen and getting outside. YAHOOOOOOOO
I LYTTMABA

I'd stand in a line for hours for ice cream....it's my favorite food!! Bonnie's hubby made home made vanilla for us to enjoy last night.....awesomeness in a bowl!!
