Thank you Sally for our Blue Monday fun.
This Post is abour a special trip to Florida. Our grandson Caleb had his piano recital and we were able to attend this year. We have missed his recitals the past few years, so this was a special time for us.
This year the recital was held in a nursing home as a combination to entertain the residents as well as giving their recital for parents and friends. It worked out very well. The room was lovely and the residents were thoroughly entertaned. So were we.
Around 10 piano students of different age levels and ability entertained us. Our grandson was one of two boys that were around the same age and they both played beautifully. Caleb played a concerto that was in three parts. Very long and very beautiful. He played two other times, one of which was with his teacher and he had to improv the notes to go with what she played. This is Caleb's favorite thing to do. Caleb memorizes all his music and plays perfectly. We are so proud of him.
I have only three photos. I couldn't get close enough to get a good shot while he was playing.
He has his certificate of acomplishment in his hand. Caleb is 14 years old.
Caleb with his teacher.
Now for a photo of our daughter her two boys and her husband taken after the recital.
Left to right is Cody, he had is 16th birthday while we were there. The second reason we were so happy to be in Fl.
Next to Cody is his dad Garrett, then Caleb and our daughter Christina.
Happy Blue Monday.
Love, Jeanne
I'm glad you were there Jeanne, that had to be fun! I'd love to be able to play the piano:@)

Happy Blue Monday, Jeanne. Did you arrange with Caleb to wear his blue jeans so you could feature him for Blue Monday? I know everyone is going to love reading about him and his gift. Christina has a lovely family. And, you already know that I adore Christina. Your family is blessed to have each other.
We had a thunderstorm a few hours ago. Pouring rain and loud thunder.

What a talented young man. He is doing so well being his age. By the time he is grown, just think what he can do. I think it is wonderful, and that you and his family could be there for him.

So happy for all of you that you were able to be there. I am sure it meant so much to your Grandson!!
It sounds as if he memorized a lot of music. That is wonderful. As a pianist I never learned to memorize music. I am tied to the notes.....
