THE CAPTAIN IN BLUE
Each day that we drove to Acadia National Park we passed this statue of a man in blue. It was hard to tell what it was and why it was put in a place that seemed to have no meaning. When Bill finally stopped so I could get a photo to share with you, I was surprised to realize the statue was 12 to 15 feet tall. He was handcarved out of wood. He also needs a paint job! We decided to call him a Sea Captain of the olden days.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Strange huh?
From the side he was even stranger. Is that a pipe?
Still strange but the thing sticking out must be a pipe.
Would you call him a Sea Captain?
I did!
Footnote: Beverly says he is an old salt. definition - Old Salt is a term for a sailor who
knows the ropes, has sailed the
seven seas, and come home to tell
the stories.
Happy Blue Monday
Love,
JEANNE
He was blue and strange:-)
Happy BLue Monday!

Jeanne...I think I would call him weird...big, blue, and someone has a sense of humor I guess. Good find for blue monday though.

We do encounter some odd things away from home, but I'll bet there's an interesting story behind him:@)

I would guess that he might be a statue of Old Salt. He is definitely a very interesting fellow.
What's on you agenda for today? The man is coming to fix the wallpaper this morning.
Love to you.♥ I'm off to work.

I admire the artist of the BLUE Sea Captain. It seems he only made one mistake, and that was when he choose to place the overlarge pipe out of the captain's chin!
Happy Blue Monday!

Whatever his purpose is, you have named him well. It is probably a pipe as most of the sea captains smoked one. You are finding some most interesting things in your travels.

What a great blue treat that you have given us today. I would suppose that it is somebody's art project that took them a long time, and so there it is, for all to see!
Happy Blue Monday, and I hope that your week is wonderful.

With my extensive knowledge in all things seagoing...lol...I would say it is a sea captain too (or old salt).

Indeed, he does look like an OLD SALT.
I have been wondering where you were and then I read somewhere that you were traveling again. Ya'll are the goingest people. :))) Glad you are having fun.
We pretty much stay around the place..day trips every now and then but that's about it. We are old and poor.:)
