Thank you Diane at, A Picture is Worth 1000 words, for hosting a great way to share our thrifty finds.
THE GIFT OF HA
Recently, when I was in Canada, we exchanged gifts with six blogging sisters who mostly gave things that they wanted to share. The gift exchange was so much fun and in many cases very touching. The gift I will share with you today was one of those gifts.
This HA! sign is very special and the artist is from Canada. The artist's name is Sid Dickens and this work is a *Memory Block. My friend Julie at,This is How I See the World, went to an art show in Vancouver and bought this for herself. She gifted it to me because I say the word HA! a lot. I call that the most thoughtful and generous gift. Note to Julie... I love you Julie and I loved all the gifts you gave me but this was a gift frm your heart. Thank you so much.

About Memory Blocks ®
It has been said that Sid Dickens Memory Blocks strike a perfect balance between intrigue and artistic appreciation. Several reasons may come into play for invoking such an observation. For our admirers, it is recognizable that many careful steps are taken to bring a Memory Block from its early vision to its place on your wall. Carefully handcrafted from start to finish in our Vancouver-based studio, each Memory Block undergoes a unique process at the hands of numerous highly skilled and specialized artisans using traditional raw materials and artistic techniques.
Other fans acknowledge our incorporation of materials with organic based products and our mandate to retain a safe and pleasant environment inside our workplace. Still others love Memory Blocks because the quality of each tile is unmatched.
Every piece is instilled with pride of workmanship. We use only the highest grade materials, all of which are subjected to in-depth experimentation before final selection to ensure the optimum finished tile. We go to great lengths to preserve the muse that so inspires the art.
Perhaps the most apparent reason that Memory Blocks have struck a particular chord and found their way into so many lives is that, while uniquely individual, they allow us to visually share the stories that define us. Their beauty aside, they enrich our lives by connecting us to each other, igniting our self-expression and bringing a sense of depth to any space.
This is a wonderful 2nd time around gift.
Love,
JEANNE
You've got quite the Ha! reputation. I would say that it is a good reputation to have. You always make me smile - and laugh.
Love you.♥

I think I told you Jeanne, that Julie brought that HA tile with her in Feb. when she was here. I've kept it here till our reunion. Isn't it HEAVY?? Dickens is a great artist. I know that Julie's friends all have them. They all have a different meaning for every individual. I LOVE the fact that Julie gave you the HA. She knew from meeting you the very first time that it was actually meant for YOU. How cool is that??
It feels like a Monday today. Do you know yesterday was 90 here? YUP. Nice and HOT. I finally found a new hairdresser. I gave her the low down on HOW TO CUTE MY HAIR!! She was very good, but the test is washing it today and seeing how I can work with it. I needed to find one before I head out to see you girls. Nothing worse than a bad hair cut a few days before you leave to meet 55 ladies, lol.
Mom is really suffering with shingles. OMG. She's in so much pain all the time. Her little body can't take anymore pain. They will not give her meds either. They are afraid it will only make her memory worse. Poor mom.
Spoke to sister Lolotte yesterday. She's well, and we sure talk about all you girls. I've been reading her journal again that she wrote just for me a year ago. Her life has been so interesting. It was like reading a good book and not being able to put it down. You would enjoy reading this one ; )
Ok that's it for now. I'm still waiting to book my flight. I keep hoping the price will go down, but no luck. Timing is good, except Randy has to drive me to the airport for 5:00AM AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Oh Jeanne. You are so very welcome. Some things are just meant for certain people. (The weight of that darn tile aside!)
Sid's website is actually www.siddickens.com and you can see that the tiles are numbered, and they archive them eventually so that they are no longer available for collection. On the site, you can read the meaning behind each tile. Some people buy them for the picture but I of course buy them for what they stand for. "Life is about the HA". is what Sid has designated on this tile. You have brought much Ha to my life and to those who have known you for many years before me. Thanks for devoting a post to it. You're a lovely lovely lady. Ciao girlie.
Love ya.

That was the perfect gift for you, Jeanne! You are always looking on the bright HA side of life! That's one of the many reasons we all love you so much!
I've not heard of that artist, so it was good to read your info and that which Julie shared!
It's cool in KC....yay!!! I took the grand dog for two nice walks yesterday...we both just smiled and skipped (yes, Izzie can skip!) the entire time. We've waited a long time for some awesome weather. Sadly, it's supposed to rain on Sat. and that morning I'm in a 5K (my son and niece are doing it, too!)! It's very close to our house and is organized by a friend of our son's.....so that's why I'm doing it. Gotta go look for a light weight rain jacket this a.m. I don't want to get soaked! :)
Hope you're having a great week! L, Dana
