WELCOME TO "MY"
Beverly, at How Sweet the Sound, is hosting Pink Saturday for the most fun Blog Party of the week. Sharing Christmas on Pink Saturday is so much fun. I for one, am loving it. Thank you Beverly. You ROCK!!!
Christmas Cookie Day from the past. Since we are baking cookies today there isn't any time to get my post up on time for Pink Saturday. Not much changes from year to year and I promise to share today's cookie day next week.
Christmas 2008
The photos I am sharing are several pics which tells the story of how to get six women and one man in a kitchen to bake twelve kinds of cookies in one day. LOL!!!
My sisters and BIL from left to right.
Jane Anne, Carmen, me. Diane, Caralie and Billl my BIL
In case you are wondering why we are laughing so hard, my brother-in-law Bill, sneaked in to get in the sister's photo. His only part in this cookie bake was to eat as many as we would allow.
This is my lovely kitchen counter after the baking began. An unbelieveable mess and it doesn't stop here.
This is my island in my kitchen. How can anyone accomplish anything with such chaos.
Sisters Carmen and Jane Anne proceeding to make a mess on my table. LOL. There is no more space to mess up. We have covered every inch of my kitchen with cookie mess.
This is just the beginning of what we can do. The molasses cookies are the ones on the cookie sheet on the front of the table next to the far left.
This is Linda and Diane (sitting) in the cabin baking more cookies. The second oven was a blessing. Linda is our dear friend and neighbor. Her nickname is Linder. Candy kisses cookies. Do I dare say we call them boob cookies. LOL.
This is my brave nephew Randy, helping with our cookie day extravaganza. How do you like the apron he is wearing? Vanessa at, Vanilla Lavendar made it for me. What's a guy to do when it was the only apron we had left for him to wear. He was a good sport.
This where the artistic part comes in. it is time to ice the cut out cookies. The fun begins.
There is a discussion going on here. " I think my cookie is the best looking one." They may not say it but they are thinking it. Smile.
Rolled date cookies. Mmmmmm.
Chocolate Chip, M&M's cookies. Yum Yum
Shortbread bar cookies with chocolate and nuts. Are you hungry yet?
Jan's recipe at, Jan and Tom's Place Cherry Blinks, these cookies are delicious. Excuse me I have go get a couple of these, I'm getting hungry.
Did I say artists at work? I wasn't kidding.
When we are all done icing these cookies we share them by taking turns choosing one at a time until they are all chosen. You would not believe the banter going on while we do this. " That's mine don't take that one." " I worked so hard on that one save it for me." " I want that Santa cookie he is so cute." Everyone is very polite and no one gets upset. Not really! Here is the kicker. My sister says, "I go first, I'm the oldest." My other sister says, "no, I go first I'm the baby." LOL. We are laughing our heads off and very soon everyone is picking as fast as they can because by now we are getting so tired we don't care anymore.
I hope you enjoyed our cookie bake. I didn't share every cookie we baked today, as this could go on a very long time. May everyone have a happy Christmas cookie day. When all was said and done my kitchen was cleaned and beautiful once again. I was flat on the couch exhausted.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL...Jeanne
HPS!
Fun, fun, fun! Do you ship to Canada? LOL! I am not kidding!

What a bunch of cooking baking ladies. I am not sure if I had been your BIL if I would have even gotten close to the kitchen. I cannot image cooking that many cookies.

That looked like so much fun Jeanne! I never had sisters but now I have a cookie baking day with my daughter and daughter in law. It's become one of our traditions too. We'll be baking on Monday and I'll be thinking about you.

I loved those photos, Jeanne...the sisters with the man-sister sneaking in and the sink!! LOL you just have to have an enormous mess in order to make such wonderful cookies. Heck, just baking one kind of cookie wipes out my island and counter tops! I can't imagine having that many people working in that area and not having stuff everywhere! Having the cabin in which to extend the baking process is truly a blessing!!!
We had our annual Progressive Luncheon and Holiday Homes Tour yesterday......it's a killer getting ready for it, but so worth it after we've pulled it off and spend the day relaxing, laughing, EATING and enjoying each others decorating and little "surprises"!!
Gotta finish my shopping today and get gifts wrapped. The newest gr. baby is due any day....and I have to be ready to welcome him AND watch the other 2 grands for a few days!
Have a wonderful PS and a blessed pre-Christmas week!!

Can you say cookie heaven. I have always been the holidy baker, I know have handed over my spatular to my daughter. It feels so strange to not be in the kitchen on my feet for hours...I haven't met a cookie I didn't like. These all look great.
Merry Christmas

Hi Sweetest Jeanne! :) Thanks honey for the call - my business & phone lines are one and the same. You can call me ANYTIME...the only reason I'd not pick up during the day is because I'm either walking the dog, on PTO, or on a conference call. For some reason I don't have your phone number...so email it to me please. I would have called you back when I got your message, but I didn't have your #. I think I had it on a little piece of paper when I drove up to Franklin in October and I didn't transfer it then to my phone;forgot. :( SOOOO, this cookie bake is QUITE intensive! I LOVE IT... I read how you banter and squabble in a fun way when picking out your cutout artisitic ones...that's SO fun. The pic of you and your sisters and BIL are precious. What a BLESSED life you life Jeanne...you really do! We are blessed too! Yesterday we had Catie's 3rd birthday party. Today is her actual b'day and we're going to see the Nutcracker - just the girls! Can't wait. Happy Sunday friend...and I'm PRAYING we can spend some time together in January or February. Last night I got SKYPE up and running and Skyped CLAUDIE...it was so FUN to see her..and she saw me. We didn't talk a ton; as I had guests here at my home..but my sister was getting me set up so we had to call someone on Skype to make sure we had it done right. LOVE YOU FRIEND - the Auction has come to a stand still...but we still have a few days left! I'm happy with what we've gotten bids on so far. ;) xoxo Love ya!

FUN!!!!! I wish I had been there. I could have been the official taste tester. The date cookies reminded me of the wonderful Date Pinwheel cookies my grandma always made at Christmas. I hope to back sugar cookies with the grandkids this week !!! what a great time to spend with your sisters.

You should see me now Jeanne. I've got Colt's lazy boy at my computer desk. The keyboard on my lap, Bella next to me and Bonnie wants up now awwwwwww.
We just devoured Harry and David's chocolates. OMG Jeanne, they are so good, but I would LOVE to taste your famous cookies too. Maybe one day I'll be there, and I can be part of your sister cookie party. Do you think they would let me crash the party??
Ok this is very uncomfortable. Gotta go.
