WELCOME TO "MY"
Beverly, at How Sweet the Sound, is hosting Pink Saturday for the most fun Blog Party of the week. My New Year will be a pink one because of you. Thank you Beverly. You ROCK!!!
THE COLOR PINK AND A SPECIAL RING
This is a bad closeup but the true color is more vivid.
My birthday is in Oct. and the stone besides an opal is a rose zircon. It may be hard to tell but each stone is shaped into a heart. Not really so special to anyone but me.
On my sixteenth birthday my parents gave me this ring. It was the first ring I ever owned and I loved it so much. The next day I lost it in school in the bathroom. I took it off so it wouldn't get soapy when I washed my hands. I ran back in the bathroom within seconds and the ring was gone. No one took it to lost and found and I cried my heart out for days. It was a hard lesson on carelessness.
This is the happy ending. A couple of months later on Christmas morning an identical ring was under the tree for me. My parents were raising six children and money was scarce but there it was under the tree.
I still have it 56 years later.
Special... yes it is.
THE COLOR PINK HAS THE FOLLOWING MEANINGS.
I agree with them all.
++++++++++++++++++++++++
Pink is the color of universal love. Pink is a quiet color. Lovers of beauty favor pink. A pink carnation means "I will never forget you".
Pink Energy
Pink is a combination of red and white. The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness, while red helps you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies. Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behaviour.
Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.
Put some pink in your life when you want:
- calm feelings
- to neutralize disorder
- relaxation
- acceptance, contentment
I DO WANT THIS...DON'T YOU?
A great BIG pink smile here today.
Love,
JEANNE

Love the ring and the sweet story!

I know this story well don't I Jeanne. Remember the same thing happened to me with my first ring?? I left it in the bathroom in Niagara Falls. Thought I would be smart too and took it off so it wouldn't get wet : (
I never did see yours in person, but I know it is dear to your heart.
Your mom and dad were such great parents.
Happy PS my friend.
We are waiting for Karen and Neil to arrive from Cornwall. They were suppose to come over New Year's Eve, but Karen was sick. Tonight we celebrate with them. Randy is cooking the other half of the prime rib. Colt is here to join us.

What a wonderful story, Jeanne!!! Your parents were such kind and loving folks....and they knew how very sad you were to lose that awesome ring!!! It remains a beautiful treasure, for sure!!!
We went to a show and grabbed some Gates Bar B Q and brought it home tonight. I'm sure you've had Gates during one of your trips to KC. It's not my favorite, but my hubby likes it and it's pretty close.
I'm nodding off...the Cotton Bowl is on, so I guess I'll stumble into the family room and watch it and doze.....just like my hubby is doing!
Happy Pink Saturday!!

Happy Pink Saturday and New Year! I am so glad the story had a happy ending! I knew something had to be good in order to see the ring and hear the story. Phew! That was close! :) Interesting concepts surrounding pink. Who knows? Who knew? Well, I guess I'm off to the backyards of other pinks! Trying to get ample visits in this weekend since I barely saw anyone last weekend! Hugs, Jenn

Hi Jeanne, I had tears in my eyes as I read. What precious parents you had. Oh, you could never, never part with this beautiful ring! In fact, I too have a ring my parents gave me on my birthday in my teens with my birth stone. I can never part with it either. However, your story is all the more precious due to your wonderful parents replacing your firsr ring. I can only imagine how they must have scraped to get the money together before Christmas. What a memory and a treasure. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Blessings.

What a beautiful ring, and sweet story. I bet you WERE heartbroken as you said when your first one got lost.
Makes me think of the ring Barry gave me at 17, and I wear it now as a weddiing ring. Those kinds of things can be soooo special and meaningful eh.
I didn't know PINK had all those meanings.
I thought Pink meant Claudie -- ha ha ha
love ya
