Pink Saturday hosted by my dearest friend Beverly at, How Sweet the Sound, is a day for all Pinkies to show their pink. I am proud to be a Pinkie and if you consider yourself to be a Pinkie too, visit Beverly's blog for Pink madness. You will have fun, I guarantee it personally.
A memory to Share
We lived on a dairy farm when I was young and my best memory of Spring was the tulips that bloomed along our driveway up to our farm house. It was a fairly long drive and the tulips would be multiple colors but mostly pink. Our driveway was a country gravel road. To me it was beautiful. I don't have a photo from way back when but I have some photos (not mine) that bring back my memories.
SPRING IS IN THE AIR.
Happy Pink Saturday
Love,
JEANNE
I have a row of daffodils that line our drive up north. We always get back home after they have bloomed and are just stalks....lol....Beautiful photo.

I really want to scoop up all of those tulips and fill my house with them. I love it when the tulips come up in the spring!
Happy Pink Saturday,
Robin

I lived in the backwoods country until I was in high school. I never saw beauty like these tulips tho. Maybe bitterweeds.

I'm thinking I need to go find me some tulips and bring home so I can feel a titch of spring.
seriously.....I AM SURROUNDED IN A BOG OF MUD right now
We had all that snow...and it got warm fast and now it is melting at record speeds and water mud everywhere.
I hate to whine, but I hate this time of year when things are such a mess at my house.
OK WENDY.....get a grip.
think tulips and daffodils

HPS, Jeanne!! I love your tulip memories....and the photos you shared that remind you of those times!!!
I honestly do not have any memories of tulips (from my youth). The only bulb flowers I recall were Iris....and I was nuts over them. I also recall mom always having peonies...and they were and are still a favorite flower of mine..minus the ants, of course!! One other flower of spring I love is white spirea. I remember always having that in bloom around graduation time.....cuz I clearly remember that flower being used for decorative purposes at school at the end of the school year.
Well...my sale was a stinker today. Lots of reasons...mainly the folks who ran it and decided advertising in the newspaper was something they didn't need to do. Sadly...the customer head count was waaaaaay down.
I'm bummed about it, but a glass of wine and a Baylor win over KU in the Big 12 tourney is making the cruddy day less cruddy tonight! Getting ready to watch Mizzou play Texas. I'd love it if we won.......but will not be surprised if we don't.
Hope your PS is full of fun.......L, Dana

Our house came blessed with seven clumps of tulips, those many years ago---bright reds and yellows, and for the past couple of years it's been suspenseful to see if the valiant nests of leaves will send out any of the flaming glory of the past. Every now and then, one or two in odd places will surprise us with a bright memory of greeting.
I try to imagine having so many as in the photos, or stretching to the skyline as in the catalogs, and am just happy for a pot or two during the season to brighten the house.
The pinks ARE my favorites---all the fancies and the parrots and the cheer of the blazing ones are lovely, but the shy, pearly old-fashioned shades of pink are like dear, steady friends, I think.
love and,
rachel

Hello Jeanne.
What a beautiful pink post, tulips in pink , the best you can get, so beautiful.
About Amsterdam, it is about an hours drive from where I live , so not so far, but I don't know how your program for the day is and at what time you arrive in SChiphol. If you have the day off we might be ablle to plan omething for a couple of hours. IT would be wonderful to meet.. We must talk about it when December is coming and maybe you know more abou twhat is going to happen and what your program is OK? It would be such a pity if you would be in Amsterdam and not see anything of it. It is so beautiful.

oh, this was such an add occurrence when I ran out to take his photo, this chap resfeud to pose! kept behaving like a 6 foot tall bunny, hiding behind trees and nibbling their branches, till he disappeared behind a fence .wondering if he wasn't some very creative burglar or something wasn't there a movie about that once?
