FRIENDSHIPS THROUGH BLOGGING
It has been an amazing journey since May of 2008 when I started blogging. Pink Saturday is where many of my friendships began. Beverly, my dearest friend of 42 years, helped me start this blog and it has been one the most intersting things I have ever done. Who knew this would be a life changing opportunity. I learned that I could spend hours (days) posting and visiting my new found friends. I also learned that I would have to allow and limit my time on the computer or I would have a burnout situation. I have seen it happen to many of my blogging friends. So blogging has evolved to a moderated time restraint experience and I hope all of my wonderful blogging friends know that I will never stop blogging but life sometimes limits my times to visit.
Today is my day to share a part of our vacation and a connection to some darling blogging friends who are very dear to me.
Our trip to Kansas City, MO to family brought us very near to Dana at, The Stone Rabbit. This will be the third time we have had the wonderful opportunity to visit each other.
We had a very special time in a quaint town called Parkville. Dana drove to my SIL's home and off we went to have some fun.
Close to my sister-in-law's home...not mine. HA!
One of our stops was this antique mall. The minute we walked in we met a Pinky who was "BLING" personafied.
I think the sales person should be an adopted Pinkie! Dana and I loved her fun personality.
Dana spotted this super hero purse or makeup case. It suits her perfectly. She is a 'super' friend.
Don't swoon, we nearly did when we saw the most beautiful pink feather tree we have ever seen. It was $300. We decided the pink boa's were perfect for this rare Christmas tree photo. It looks like we are being choked by a feather boa. HA!
Returning to my SIL's home we exchanged gifts.
Thank you Dana for these sweet and thoughtful gifts. Do you see the little silver rings? They belong to a silver charm bracelet Dana gave me which was inadverntly left in Kansas. She included charms with the letters HA. This photo is not a HA! moment for me. However, It will be sent to me soon by my SIL. I loved it so much I wore it the whole time we were at my SIL's home. SIGH!
My gift to Dana
Did you know she loves Cats and her granddog as well as her dear friend the Stone Rabbit?
So I included some little toys for her pets.
Thank you Dana, for taking time out of probably 'the busiest week in your life' to entertain me'
I loved every minute of our time together.
**************************************
Our next stop was Houston and I posted all about that this past Monday.
From there we headed to Galveston, Texas to visit my sweetie blogging friend Shelia at, NOTE SONGS. We arrived to find my sweet friend looking beautiful as always and greeting us with open arms. Mr Precious was a grand host and a very sweet guy to say the least.
It was so much fun to see her beautiful gracious home in person. Over the years she has shared so much of her lovely home with us through blogging. Shelia and I have also been blogging friends about four years. Meeting in person was definitely a very special time.
This photo was taken in her entrance hall where she puts her gorgeous Christmas tree every year. Chloe Dawn was so sweet and so were her parents.
I borrowed this Shelia, I hope you don't mind. Mine did not look this good.
After visiting a while we were entertained and dined in the historical city of Galveston. The buildings there just took us back in time. A lovely place to live for sure. The Gulf of Mexico was just minutes away from their home.
We were treated to lunch at a terrific Seafood restaurant right down town across the street from a beautiful very historic theater that is still going strong.
Shelia and her dh go there often.
The exterior is a pinkish color.
Our lunch was delicious
We took each others photo with our cameras in hand.
Our host and his dish of red fish.
My lunch was a tuna steak. Mmmmmm.
We all enjoyed our delicious lunch and a lovely time visiting. We all four found ourselves talking at the same time in our excitement of meeting for the first time in person.
We then drove all around Galveston to see the sights. We saw the Pleasure Pier that Shelia posted about recently. Seeing the Gulf of Mexico so close was a thrill.
Then back to Shelia'a for dessert.
Shelia has the artistic talent of setting a gorgeous tablescape. She served us the most delicious 'to die for' chocolate cake made in a skillet. Thank you Shelia for making us feel so special.
Last but not least we toured our hosts beautiful home and then shared gifts. More about the tour later. (Think Civil War)
THE GIFTS
Thank you Shelia for your lovely and thoughtful gifts.
We certainly think alike because Shelia gave me the cutest yard bird S & P's ever. I gave her a yard bird too. She also gave me a sweet handmade heart and hen potholder that she made...of course...she is the hand made queen and everything she does is awesome. Then she gave Bill taffy made locally. He is now her biggest fan. HA! The Post card is a memory from our hosts to keep. We will always remember our few hours we spent with the sweetest people in Galveston, Texas. It was way not enough time but home was calling us East.
So now that you see the wonderful experiences in meeting our blogging friends. Go ahead, get on it and meet some of the friends we love through blogging.
Happy Pink Saturday
Love,
JEANNE

I am sure you know by now how crazy I am. I left a comment but I think it was on your friends instead of yours. Lord, forgive me, I know not what I do.

Happy Pink Saturday, dear Jeanne. I just finished my morning cup of coffee, and I keep picking up the cup to see if more coffee has magically appeared. Funny, but it hasn't. I'll be off soon on my "Saturday duties". We met our guys for Mexican food last night, and our little guy had his first fried ice cream. The two of them scarfed it down.
I love your post today. Pinkies uniting makes my heart happy. Maybe we all need to begin wearing tags so we can spot each other in public.♥

I just LOVE meeting your friends, and always feel as if they're MY Step-friends, or once-removed, or whatever that nomenclature is. And a few of them have become like family to me, as well.
What a wonderful trip, and I also LOVE your joy in the travel, in the meetings, in all the adventures along the way. Thank you for sharing your lovely life, my sweet friend.
love,
rachel

I so feel like I was there w/ya. How neat was that to get to visit blogging friends and meeting Shelia in person and see her home too. I certainly expected to see roosters in those gifts. I love that bluejean purse you gave Dana. Wow. I appreciate knowing the length of time you have been friends w/Beverly. I have moved so much and lost contact so many times w/people. I guess both worlds happen, huh?
I also appreciate your wise words on blogging. Me, having blogged on, off, on, off and well, this time it seems to be sticking. ?
Hugs, Jenn Oh yes, Happy Pink Saturday and love your pinks!
