HPS and Happy Independence Day, Jeanne! Yes, you were a late poster today! I checked on you earlier, but saw you weren't ready. Better late than never!!

I love the party you arranged for the 4th!! Everything looks so pretty and festive. You can tell I didn't put too much to mine this time. Actually, I had another post started with my usual array of tons of pix, but just wasn't in the mood to finish it the right way, so I quick put the one I ended up with together right before posting time.

It's sooooo hot in KC.....you are lucky your trip here is over and done with. I believe it got to 103 today. :( Our poor A/C is working away. I've set the thermostats for lots higher than normal and trying to put fans around, plus using the ceiling fans. I cooked dinner in my Nesco Roaster out on the patio...so as to not heat the kitchen up. It's 10:30 now...and still steamy. I just went out front to check on something and couldn't believe the heat.

I need to work on my journal, too, but haven't started it. I plan on doing that on Sunday.

Have a wonderful weekend....and I'm really glad you have some "guest free" time for a bit....you two amaze me!

I just had a nice piece of watermelon for breakfast. I'm getting ready to go into Ottawa and pick up my friends and heading to the Chateau Laurier downtown for a couple nights. Tomorrow are the big Parliament Hill fire works. Should be fun. I'll be gone till Monday.
