A very happy hello to all of you Pinkies out there in blogland. Beverly is our wonderful hostess and she is the reason we have so much fun on Pink Saturday.
WREATH HANGING ON MY BACK DOOR
Welcome to Pink Saturday
I am sharing my journal pages for my Circle Journal project.
There our 10 bloggers doing this project that we have met through PINK SATURDAY.
For those of you who do not know what this is... our circle group of ten have each picked a theme and made our journals with enough pages so that each member will create two pages of all ten journals. Each month we receive a different journal and we complete our two pages. We then mail the journal to the next participant untill we have finished all of them. In November we receive our completed journals.
I can't wait to see mine finished by the group of the most creative women I have grown to love and admire.
This month the journal I worked on has the theme 'Marie Antoinette' I had fun creating my two pages and the following pics are what I created. This journal belongs to Grace at,Pink in the City. she is a follower of Pink Saturday. Take some time to visit Grace, you will be glad you did.
The first page is a digital work of art created by a blogging friend that gave me permission to use his work. He sometimes does Pink Saturday. His name is Bill at WJCS Digital world.
Bill has a very interesting and fun blog. Go and visit Bill please. You will enjoy his wonderful digital art work as well.
Next closeups of the two pages.
The original art had to be cropped a bit. Sorry Bill.
First I printed this pic of Marie Antoinette and glued it to the page. Then I took a sheet of vellum and covered it. I love the way it looks. Kind of mysterious huh? Grace, I hope you like my pages.
Happy Pink Saturday.
Love,
JEANNE
I am SURE she will LOVE those pages you did. Sounds like a really fun thing to do actually. I have seen some examples of what Dana has done also on her blog.
Have a great, creative weekend my dear. It is going to be a beautiful weekend, weather wise, for us. MIGHT BE THE LAST.

I am sooooooo impressed with your layout for Grace's journal!! Love the digital work your friend created. . .and you clever girl.....using the velum over Marie's picture DOES make her look very mysterious!!! I haven't finished my pages yet......I have started, but time has been full right now. I'm also trying to work on items to sell in an upcoming show.
Gotta run....I love your journal work.

I admire you ladies for doing this. Neat idea. I would never be able to participate in things like this. If I have a talent, I have not found it.

Hello, Dear Friend,
How Lovely YOUR PAGES ARE! Don't you just love the effect of vellum? For Christmas a few years ago, Chris had a couple of dozen copies of my writings printed, with the LAWN TEA butterfly picture on the cover, covered with vellum for that wonderful hazy translucent effect.
And the top page reminds me: I jot down a little memory sometimes, of things I'd like to write about, and one of them---totally insignificant---is the phenomenon of those little throw pillows that everybody used to put in the back windows of their cars. Was that a totally Mississippi thing? They all looked alike, just different colors, and some store must have done a landslide business in inch-checked gingham, for they involved some kind of corner-to-corner stitch which pulled up either the shite check or the colored one into little points all over the cloth.
Then they were made into pillows aboug 14" square, and just sat there in the back windows, like little noddy-dogs, fading from the sun. I always wondered if they had some kind of symbolism or were just a fad. I've tried to find pictures on Google, but only straight pin-tucks come close.
Do you or any of your talented seamstress readers recognize what I'm talking about? I'd love to hear if you do.
love you,
rachel
PS---that humongous storm last night left our yard a muddy mess from here to there, and several leaks in the playroom downstairs rendered the old indoor-outdoor carpet a SOGGY mess, as well, so we spent several hours last night with shop-vacs, standing on our heads, trying to keep up with the rivers flooding across the floor. Carpet still rolled up everywhere and huge fans blowing as I write.
Caro and I decided LATE last night that we couldn't have our party tomorrow outside, and INSIDE might still be damp and unpleasant, so we postponed til the end of the month. No cooking donw yet, and all the groceries will keep.

Oh, Dear Heavens!!! I meant WHITE check!!! Do forgive me---and pick me up off the floor cause I'm laughing so hard.
That'll teach me to proofread!

Oh Jeanne! Your comments always make my day! Your wonderful journal pages are so gorgeous! I really enjoy these and I am going to set myself on a journey of making my self a journal. I love butterflies so I know that will be part of my journal. My oldest daughter has an entire scrapbooking room and this winter I hope we get to spend many Sundays doing this. She lives two doors away!
Grace is a marvelous gal! I enjoy visiting her often! HPS! I will check out Bill too.
Such a fun Sunday! Heading to Pueblo for a lunch reunionw ith my high school pals!

Hi Jeanne! Love your Marie pages - that's coming my way, soon, too! I've been collecting bits and pieces and yes - it will be a perfect Pink Saturday post! Speaking of which - being off the grid as I've been most of this busy summer - I have surely missed posting on Pink Saturdays - and Tuesday teatimes - and all other fun blog parties. So MUCH on my plate and not in a routine yet. Hoping to put some fun stuff up this week - so many inspirational things going on and would love to share. Just finished Kay's journal today!! By the sea . . .
Joy!
Kathy
