GETTING READY FOR OUR CHURCH BAZAAR
I have volunteered to help with our annual bazaar sale for missions. I am in charge of the crafts division. You may think it is not such a big deal but you would be wrong. Every year our bazaar is held in the the Fair Grounds building and we make $25,000 or more for missions. In other words, this is a huge sale.
All year long we take donations for this bazaar and the craft division is mostly supplies for quilting, beading, woodworking, sewing. knitting, crocheting, quilling, painting and I could go on and on. For example we have 12 feet of fabric that is over a foot high. I am sharing the work I did last night sorting lace, ribbon, etc. until midnight while I watcbed TV. I think you might get a kick out of the following photos.
My couch. Yikes!
A giant box of lace , lace, lace.
Ribbon, knitting and crochet needles. I do not know the difference. Oh, and more lace too.
More lace, thread and ribbon. Another big collection of knitting and crochet needles. Endless, it seems.
I picked out some pink for you.
Another box of lace.
My husband thought it would be funny to take this photo. I think it is pretty funny myself. Especially that silly look on my face.
Picture this as being a tiny part of the 15 tables of stuff I have to sort. I have worked the last five days until noon at the fair ground each day. (no air-conditioning) Even if you want to keep going, they turn out the lights and lock the doors. After sorting all these tables of stuff (over 100 boxes and giant bags), I then have to price it all. I do have help with four volunteers who are "old" like me. I am absolutely sure we will get it all done by the time next Saturday rolls around. The day of "THE SALE" Think of this so called bazaar as a giant flea market.
I forgot to mention the four giant boxes of all kinds of baskets and endless bags of silk flowers, wreaths and garlands. These are CRAFTS! Not!. HA!
Happy Pink Saturday,
Blessings and love,
JEANNE

Jeanne, I don't know how you get the stuff to the bazaar...I'd be ga-ga over all of those goodies! I mean GA-GA!! It's like going to craft heaven. I'd be like, "One for me, one for the bazaar, two for me, one for the bazaar, three for me"...you get the idea ;)
Well, you're a dear to do all that work, seriously. Have a blessed Pink Saturday, and may your bazaar be most blessed.

Why my Dear, you do look lovely in all that lace. If I didn't already have so much of ALL THAT STUFF ... well, I might be tempted to buy some more. I'm soooo Bazaar!!!! BTW...a knitting needle is pointy on the end and a crochet needle is not a needle but a HOOK...that's how you tell the difference! Happy Pink Saturday!!!

AWWWW. You know I'd be right in the middle of all that ribbon and lace. I was just born with a girlie-gene, I think, and am in such a pastel phase of life right now, that couch is just the kind of place I could lie right down and just BE.
No craft talent, in ANY form, but it's just the HAVING, I think---the swirl of the lace, the shine of the ribbon, the unspoken history of a faded satin rose---what stories to tell, and how sweet their secrets. How I wish to be there, just soaking in the PINK, and choosing new treasures for the enjoying. I hope you a wonderful weekend of sharing out your wares, sending them off to delight and amuse and encourage by their pure BEAUTIFUL.
love and,
rachel
