FOR THE LOVE OF PUPS AND CHILDREN
These photos were sent to me in an Email and they are too cute not to share then.
First a sad note...
Sadly, my dear cousin Marilyn passed away last Sunday and we will be leaving on Thursday for Michigan, to attend her memorial on Aug. 10th. We were close to the same age and loved each other dearly. Many of my pinky friends on Pink Saturday may remember her. I have posted several posts about my cousin over the past few years. We are very close in age. Marilyn has not missed a year of visiting my family and me since the late 1950's. She left a sad void in our lives and she will be terribly missed.
A favorite photo of us many years ago.
Marilyn and I had a good laugh at her glasses. Trust me, they were in fashion when this photo was taken. Marilyn was ALWAYS in fashion.
I postd this precious poem this past Monday that says it all.
For Marilyn
A light from the family is gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in the home
Which never can be filled
We have to mourn the loss of one
We would’ve loved to keep
But God who surely loved her best
Has finally made her sleep

I am so sorry about Marilyn. I know you loved her so very much!!! It's horrible to lose a loved one, but almost even more hurtful is to lose that person so unexpectedly. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for including some great photos in this post....I needed some laughter and they helped!! I'm sure Marilyn appreciates the pix you dedicated to her!

I'm so sorry for your loss, Jeanne. What great memories you must have of good times together. I love the picture of you two by the train. I have one that is so similar of my best friend and me from the '80s or maybe '70s just because of the the giant glasses - we all had those! Take care, Jeanne. Keeping you in my prayers. xo Nancy

Jeanne, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope your heart full of wonderful memories will comfort you. I had to smile about Marilyn's glasses - I had a pair like them in the eighties :) I enjoyed your photos - especially the golden retriever. I have an old golden who looks just like the one in the photo. May your heart heal. -Terri

Your post is a beautiful dedication to a very special loved one. Thankfully, you have so many good memories that will help you through this difficult time. Her love for you, must have been just as deeply felt. Love the picture you shared...if those glasses weren't funny enough, I bet she got a good laugh at your high water, flowery pants. LOL!!!

Hi Jeanne I have missed seeing you at my place! I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful cousin. I know how close the two of you were. Now she is a smiling angel watching down on you. When I lost my favorite uncle years ago I made a pact with God. When I find money on the ground, mostly pennies, I look up to the sky and thank Uncle Louie! I had asked God for a sign and that was it! My uncle was a wealthy, generous soul and he gave so much of what he had! Problem was, he'd say, the more he gave, the more he was blessed with more! I miss him so much although it has been 23 years since he felt us. He knew Colorado history like I know myself! I know you have these memories stored in your heart about Marilyn. I know today she is shining down on you and probably having a good laugh with Our Lord. Love toy ou in this time of loss. Hugs Anne
