TREASURES FOUND
I woke up this morning and decided to find something PINK to post about. My guest bedroom has an antique washstand that belonged to my Mom and Dad. It was full of unknown items and so I decided to clean the drawers. I found enough items to post about for the next three weeks. Such a small chest held so many surprises. I totally did not remember the many treasures I found in that washstand.
'Pink Saturday Day One'
First I will show an overview of the washstand.
A closer look. Everything is vintage except the crossstitch purse in the frame and the lamp. The Hummel clown belongs to my sister Carmen. She asked me to give it to one of my boys but I can't remember which one. The framed collage is of my mom and our immediate family. The wooden shoe form was handpainted by my mom. The mother of pearl spoon with an inlaid handle is mine from my antique selling days, as is the small frame with a black nanny holding a white baby, the hanky and the crystal candy dish. The three towels are typical of the day when a wash bowl and pitcher would be on the washstand. Aren't we glad we have a better way to get clean these days?
A few closeups next.
My mom had long blonde curls when she was small. I love the pic of my mom with the birds.
My mom gave me this doll and her name is Jeanne.
This needlework is so sweet.
Last, I am sharing a handpainted hummingbird painted by my mom as a gift to me.
It is painted on a sanddollar from the beach.
I love hummingbirds and this is the sweetest treasure of all.
My washstand is all cleaned out and I am so happy to see these special treasures once again.
Happy Pink Saturday
Love,
JEANNE
OH, my Dearie!! What treasures!! And there are more? It's as if you just reach in and great and wonderful things spill out, each and every one a memory of someone sweet and dear.
I've missed you so much, Dear Friend, and am so glad to see that you're back and posting.
Much love across the miles, and I'm still counting on meeting you one day---our NC trip has been on hold for months now, due to Chris' health and their schedules. Someday, someday. And now we have a group in Savannah, so we hope to visit them sometime this year.
love and,
rachel

Happy Pink Saturday, my dear friend. I love finding you here again.
You hit the pink treasure trove at your washstand. I love all your pretties - and my favorite is the framed collage of pictures of your mother.♥

Wow! You have the best treasures there, Jeanne!! I loved them all...and how much you obviously care for the items that your mom painted!! LOVE that collage and the nanny pix!! :) The night stand is wonderful as well!!! The little handtowels do look right at home on the rack!!
It's so great to have you back with your blog!! You've been missed!!
I wish you could be at the sale tomorrow, too, Jeanne. Of course you found cheaper treasures at the flea market you went to with us when you were in KC....but this one is by far my fav!! Right now it's cloudy and I so hope they blow on over!! I don't want any weather glitches tomorrow ! Of course, we've shopped it in the rain....many vendors just hang in there and we appreciated that !
Hope you have a great PINK SATURDAY!! L, Dana
