GETTING TO KNOW A BLOG FRIEND
I have been Blogging since May 2008 and through the years I have been lucky to have met several Blog friends when we traveled from time to time. The very first friend I met was Dana, at The Stone Rabbit. We traveled to Kansas City to visit my husband's sister and only a few miles from where we stayed is where Dana lives. Since then, when we travel to Kansas City, Dana and I have had time to visit. This summer was the 4th time we were able to get together. We were fast friends and Dana always went out of her way to plan something fun to do.
This year there happened to be a big antigue sale and off we went with some of Dana's friends for a day of fun. There were many venders along both sides of the street outside and inside. Dana knew many of the antique dealers and we had a wonderful time shopping and buying along the way. After walking our legs off shopping, we had a lot of fun eating at a cafe inside one of the antique stores. I didn't do a very good job taking photos of the things we bought but I did capture photos of us at lunch.
Here is Dana in blue with her friend Bonnie. The necklaces they wore were made by Bonnie and it says "JUNK DIVA." What a perfect name for us as we love junk shopping. Bonnie surprised me and gave me one too. She made it by cutting off the bowl of a spoon, flattening it and etching the words. Not an easy job. I love mine so much.
Here we are in one of the antique shops. Notice my "JUNK DIVA" necklace. Lucky we both wore blue. Dana's purse was a gift from me because she loves cats. It was a gift from the last time we were able to see each other. The bracelet I am wearing was a gift from Dana as well. Our friendship is a bonus that I never would think could happen from having a Blog. Sally and I have also met last year. These Blog friendships are very dear to me and there are so many more.
Have you experienced Blog friendships that have bloomed from blogging? Who knew? These many friends are a blessing to me.
One last photo of the group of Dana, her friends and me having a wonderful time together for a day of fun. Thank you Dana for planning some fun when I was visiting you.
Spmething to make you smile.
My hubby snores and this cracked me up. I haven't figured out what the heck is on their heads. It looks like horns.??? HA! HA!
Happy Blue Monday
Blessings and love,
Jeanne

You are an amazing lady. You get out and about and meet so many of the blogging bunch. I have only had the pleasure of meeting one. It was so nice. I would have truly enjoyed the antique hunt. Take care my friend.

That Bill Abbott cartoon is cracking me up! He is a genius at gag writing! LOL! I need that taser too!
Your photos of friendship at blogging is wonderful! What a blessing to have such terrific friends! I love love love that purse and your necklace! Ah, simply gorgeous!
I have been blessed to visit with Suzanne (ColoradoLady), LaVoice (Thoughts from Meme's Corner) and LVs sister Patsy, the mother of Suzanne. My first blog friend Barb (Dogmom Diva) is actually my near life long friend. We became pen pals at the ripe old age of 13! Oh goodness, that was long, long ago! When my phamily traveled to NYC to see Nick at the Amory Carol from Buttercup Counts Here Blessings was on vacation :-( but she shared many ideas for us since she has lived there since 1974! I also was blessed to have Pat at Mille Favorita share ideas for things to do on a budget! Pat has moved to Colorado and one day I hope to share some time with her too. I am going back to NYC and say hi to Carol and enjoy a long visit with her. I also met Jenny and STeve Matlock when Nick ran (and won) the Nike Southwest 2012 XC. They came out of their way to visit with us. I love my bloggy friends.
Thanks for sharing with us today Jeanne. I am hoping one day we will meet as well! Hugs and Blessings, Anne

How nice that you have made such a special bloggy friend -- sounds like your day with her was a fun one! (I think those are cat eye style glasses on that cartoon couple!)

Hey, Sweetpea!!
So goad to see you out and about, traveling and enjoying. And what a beautiful crowd you travel in---each and all a sweet, gracious lady, serendipitously met, forever friend.
Someday that will be US, I hopehopehope, standing and smiling for the camera, having finally crossed the miles somehow.
And the cartoon---perfect. Bill Abbott puts some kind of wonky glasses on most of his characters---and apparently in their sleep, as well. Maybe they've always had the eyewear, and even HE doesn't know what their eyes look like!
love and,

I love both you and Dana! It's so nice you get a chance to visit one another and go shopping. Happy Blue Monday, Jeanne!
PS: I think those "hoens" are the cartoon people's eyes-- or maybe their glasses? It was funny!

The cartoon made my hubby and I both laugh out loud.... but it also gave me an idea. I wonder if he'll chuckle after I implement it?
