VINTAGE THANKSGIVING CARDS
I used to be an antique dealer and one of the things I loved to collect and sell is vintage greeting cards. I have sold many that I wish I had kept but such is the life of an antique dealer who loves what they sell. That was definitely me.
Thanksgiving is almost here and I want to share some of the cards that make me smile.
This card really made me laugh. Reckless Abandon? When one has 20 people for Thanksgiving...I take that very serious.
What are you doing for Thanksgiving?
Happy Blue Monday
Blessings and love,
JEANNE
Our family will be here...well, MOST of the family...some are traveling. We should have about 14-16 here for turkey and all the trimmings.
Your cards are so pretty....

Morning Jeanne,
We'll be going over to our son's house.
You're showing us quite a nice collection. I wonder how Thanksgiving greeting cards stopped. Thanks for playing today.
Happy Blue Monday!

Beautiful cards Jeanne! One year I am going to get to a real American Thanksgiving, they always sound so much fun, even if the chef is cooking with reckless abandon!! :)
Have a wonderful week

Those cards are really treasures. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. I love the one with the little kids in blue.

What great cards. I have a couple of vintage Christmas cards that I hope to frame one day. For Thanksgiving it will just be Mr. Comforts, one son and me.

Thanksgiving is a special time here and I love all the anticipation of planning. We will have probably 16-20 all together. I love old postcards and these are really pretty.

Charming, every one, and that one with the turkey and the child in the blue smock is like looking in the mirror of "me at three." How funny.
And I echo your serious sentiments about Thanksgiving Dinner--- that's one of the real times, as my friend Keetha says, to "cook like you mean it.'
Giving Mother's Dressing and Mammaw's Snap Beans the honor they deserve (with the same serving dishes, I might add), is just the right thing to do.
Hope you're well and warm, dear friend! Will answer your e-mail tomorrow---today's Caro's day off, and she's getting the living room spruced up to get the tree up Sunday. I think the colored corn and the sheaves of leaves and the Fall wreaths will go GREAT with the tree, for a week or two.
love and,

Oh how I love those vintage cards! I wish I had a few! Sigh!
We will have a late dinner at 6PM. Our oldest son has to work so the entire clan decided we will wait for him. I have a huge ham and our daughter Noelle has the turkey. She lives two doors away so we cook separately and eat at our house. We hand out different duties so we will miss Jeremy helping Rebekah make the deviled eggs this year! I am very grateful to have my phamily with me. The kids, Andrew and Tarrah are expecting a second little one and Jayden will be the perfect big brother. I have been sad having lost my job last week and being blind sighted by it all. But the people I worked with, in charge, do not have the kind of real phamily like I do. SO I am grateful to be here with all of them. Noelle won a gift card at work so she can do a little extra shopping and my son-in-law Roger get a gift card from his work place. I L O V E my phamily Jeanne and am eager to get silly with them Thanksgiving Day! Hugs, Anne
