PINK SATURDAY HOLIDAY GREETNGS

GARDEN CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
This past Monday was my Garden Club installation and Christmas party. It was held in the fellowship hall of my church. As past president, I installed our new officers. I am sharing a few photos of the lovely event.
Garden Club new officers. I'm about to install them for the year 2015. Our club has been in existance since the 1940's
They are holding a lucky bamboo plant which is said to bring good fortune. It was my job to write the installation and our program for this special event.
The food was potluck and as always a huge and delicious success.
The centerpieces represented the Tree of life, as did the plates and napkins. We have to use paper goods for such a large crowd but everything looked very nice.
Our entertainingment was our high school chorus and their program of Christmas medleys brought the house down. Our members made homemade cookies and gave each singer a gift of cookies and candy as a thank you. A $50 gift was also given to the H S for the Chorus.
An overview of the lovely room and the gorgeoue stained glass windows.
A few of our happy members enjoying this special event.
We have 50 plus members and I have been a member for five years.
Our club maintains our downtown gardens. You may remember many posts about our flower shows and gardens in the past.
Being a member of this organization has been a great experience which is very important to me.
Gardening is one of my passions.
Happy Pink Saturday
Blessings and love,
JEANNE
Oh, Darlin' Girl!
WHat a fabulous celebration, and I KNOW they wished that you'd take another term. And you co-ordinated all of that, and the club's work and business and entertaining, as well as all your travels and family gatherings? My mind is spinning like one of those pinwheels in old movies, to connote hypnosis or being simply BOGGLED.
You look absolutely lovely--so festive (and I've got a covetous eye on those charming flats---my only pair are Mary Janes, and not nearly so sophisticated or ladylike). What a lovely party---all decked out (in the song-sense of the word, as well, and so welcoming and warm).
Gotta get me back to the kitchen---finally got the house almost to rights, and just a few things for Chris to move to the store-room in a minute, as well as Sweetpea's little rightening of her own movie-and-toy corner. Today's make all the dips and spreads and veggies and all other make-aheads for the party, so we can just pop a few things in the oven tomorrow and set out the goodies, and a big pan of fudge for the take-home trays.
Must get to it.
love and,
rrrrrrr
