MAKING A DIFFERENCE
A SALE OF PREOWNED FABULOUS ITEMS DONATED BY OUR CHURCH MEMBERS
I am partially repeating a post I did a couple of years ago because of a time restraint. I am in charge of the craft division again this year. Picture twelve 6' tables packed solid with craft supplies, sewing supplies, sewing machines, tons of fabric, a million baskets, tons of lace, etc. etc. etc. There are at least 16 divisions that fill the fairgrounds in our town.
I have worked five 1/2 days this week with four more work days ahead and then the sale Thursday and Friday. I love doing this, but talk about stress! Pricing everything is the part I dislike the most. Did I mention two tables of floral supplies and at least 20 wreaths etc. hanging above the tables.
YIKES.
Our church makes $30,000. dollars plus every year. The money goes for feeding the needy in our town and so much more. Missions will also be helped with the money we make. Yes, this project is hard work, but totally worth the effort of more than 300 of our church members working together to make a difference.
I think you might get a kick out of the following photos.
This is just a small part of the things we have to sort and price.
My couch. Yikes!
A giant box of lace , lace, lace.
Ribbon, knitting and crochet needles. I do not know the difference. Oh, and more lace too.
More lace, thread and ribbon. Another big collection of knitting and crochet needles. Endless, it seems.
I picked out some pink for you.
Another box of lace.
This is worth the hard work to help others.
A quote from our minister's wife some 30 years ago. It stuck in my mind because it is so true.
"If you do not provide a service for others, you do a terrible disservice to yourself."

Blessings and love,

A very worthwhile project. I would like to attend as it appears you have some nice selections. Do not overdo it as one of you needs to say well. Blessings to you and Bill.
