A TRIP ON THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY
We live very near one of the most beautiful scenic highways in America and we have plans to take the highway from where it starts in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park to the end in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. It will be several days to drive all the way because there are many wonderful places to visit along the way.
We have ordered two books from AAA to help us pick the best things to do and see.
These books are very informative and we will read them carefully before we start our trip. As members of AAA we were able to get them for free. A nice benefit that will be of great help.
The drive is gorgeous and we anticipate a fabulous time. We will plan this trip next year in May.
The flowers will be gorgeous and the weather will be mild.
More about this trip as we organize our trip on this wonderful Scenic Highway
Here is a bit of information to share from Google.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is a National Parkway and All-American Road in the United States, noted for its scenic beauty. The parkway, which is America's longest linear park,[3] runs for 469 miles (755 km) through 29 Virginia and North Carolina counties, mostly along the Blue Ridge, a major mountain chain that is part of the Appalachian Mountains. Its southern terminus is on the boundary between Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation in North Carolina, from which it travels north to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and offers access to the Skyline Drive. While the two roads join together end-to-end, they are separate and distinct entities, built as two different projects and managed by two different National Park Service units. The Blue Ridge Parkway was built to connect Shenandoah National Park to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Happy Blue Monday
Blessings and love,
JEANNE

Jeanne, it is a lovely place to be. Since we were Northeast this year, we plan to go Northwest next year, stop to see some friends, and drive back down the west coast through Washington and Oregon into Northern California. That will also take some planning, so I'll be going to AAA as well.

What a wonderful Look-Forward-To!! That drive must be absolutely stunning, and the sharing of it with your Dearie will be the best part. Do Y'all sing? Please tell me you crank up the radio or CD player and SING as you ride. Rock'n'Roll or Perry Como or George Strait, Elvis or Queen? We've done some of our best traveling belting out Mary Chapin Carpenter or Toby Keith, and one most memorable moment was swooping through the West Virginia mountains. blasting out every complicated verse of BIBLE BELT with Travis Tritt.
You have to take along your Sense of Silly.
love and,
